L1036193 / Saarbrücken 2017 by Mark Volz, auf Flickr Liebe Grüße, Mark

I'm in the middle of working on a Street Photography project using the Leica SL and have been doing some work in London with the new 90mm Summicron L. I'm finding the contrast between using other gear, perhaps more often chosen for Street work, a very interesting challenge. The extra weight and bulk of the SL is handsomely balanced by the whole SL experience and the new 90mm f2 lens is a joy, although the focussing is much slower than I'm accustomed to and means you have to work a bit slower and more methodically in the Street, where speed is often a challenge. I'm again very impressed with the SL having set it aside in favour of the M10 until recently. It's easy to overlook the qualities it offers and the images are second to none. This shot is an example - only 20% of the original frame. Shot at f4 1/500s ISO 125. Is anyone else here working with the new 90mm on the SL. If so how are you finding it in your work? Mike

I will be running a street photography workshop in Southampton (UK) on Saturday 10 September. It will be based in the centre of the city and is suitable for most levels of photographic skill. The cost will be £75 and will include light refreshments, and will be limited to a maximum of 12 people. If you are interested please email me off-list at photos@gwpics.com. I hope to see one or two of you there. Gerry

I decided to try out shooting .dng and b&w .jpeg fine on the M9, and this is the result. Post processing was done in a combination of Lightroom and SilverEfex Pro2. All in all I am pretty happy with the result. Caption: An Asian woman tries to persuade a disabbled woman to take a book about meditation, and then asks for payment for it. The German word "Bratwurst" implies a food favourit in Germany. Sausage Barbecue, with Ketchup is a must for many people. I prefer gazing at those hordes munching the stuff on a paper plate along with the delicious "paper roll" slurping the sauce or mayonnaise with t toothpick sorry, not my cup of tea ... Leica Q

Our whole pedestrian zone now more or less has changed into a fast food chain. Bars, cafés, restaurants are full, foodstalls everywhere. Perhaps I should start a series. Leica Q
