  1. Taken in the market at Place du Vieux Marché, Rouen, France using the M9 and Zeiss 50mm Sonnar f1.5
  2. Indian woman shopping at a street market whilst a young girl looks on (Southampton, England). This is my first post here so I hope everything is OK.
  3. I asked this accordionist if I could take his image whilst walking through Antwerp, and he nodded his approval. When I had finished (I took 2 shots virtually identical) I put all the change in my pocket into his case, but he became disgruntled suggesting it wasn't enough. Sadly I had to walk away because I felt he might get angry, there was nothing more I could do. Processed into b&w with LR CC from the original .dng file. Gerry

  8. He was actually quite agreeable to have me take his photo. He told me he was waiting for his girlfriend to finish work at the restaurant which was right there.
  9. Ask my daughter Radha for a shoot at home. Feedback and comments are most welcome.

  14. This was taken in 2002 using an M6 and Kodak 400CN. I have recently scanned it and processed in LR and Dfine. I have no idea what the lens settings were but the lens was probably my Summicron 50mm f2. Gerry

    Italia

This image was taken in a small bar in the El Raval district of Barcelona using the Leica M9 and Zeiss 50mm Sonnar f1.5 lens @ 1600iso, and then post-processed in LR CC 2015.3 with some difficulty because of the low light levels, and the window to the extreme left which threw the exposure out a bit (this is a cropped image). This has turned out to be one of my favourite images from the trip. Gerry
  16. I took this on a trip to Beijing in 1998 using my M6, and I have just scanned it to give it a new life. I am sorry but I have no details stored with the original, but can say that it was taken on Fuji RDP 100iso film. I hope you like it! Gerry
  17. I titled this 'Was that you?"
  18. Scan #2 which I titled "Hitching a Ride"
  19. The following three images are from a film I shot in 2002 using the Leica M6 and 50mm Summicron (I think!) at a street festival in Emsworth, England. I hope you like at least one of them! Gerry

    The Barber's Shop

Whilst waiting to get my hair cut I decided to take a few photos, mainly to use up a roll of film. The barber and his customer kindly gave permission. Taken with Leica M7 and 24mm Elmarit f2.5 using Ilford Delta 400, scanned and post-processed in Lightroom. Gerry
  21. Taken on the streets of Southampton last week using a Leica M7 with 35mm Summarit f2.5 and Fuji Neopan 400CN. Gerry

    A quiet moment

I took this on a trip to Barcelona in November 2015, but I have just worked on it to get a look I am happy with so that I could submit it to a National Geographic project entitled 'Quiet Moment'. I used a Leica M9 with 35mm Leica Summarit f2.5 lens and shot at 400iso. Gerry

    The Red Hair

Celebrating the first Pride Parade in Southampton for 15 years, this transgender person is happy to be photographed. Although the first Gay pride rally was held in London in 1972 many smaller cities in the United Kingdom have been slow in celebrating LGBT diversity, but with a large student population Southampton has finally caught up with modern thinking at a colourful fun-filled event. I was on the lookout also for photos for the National geographic assignment about hair, and felt this fitted the bill. Taken using an M9 with 35mm Summitar f2.5. Gerry
  24. A teenager who is too shy hides his face whilst his friends pose for a photograph at the Southampton Pride Parade event (taken with his permission) Leica M9 with 35mm Summarit-M f2.5.
