Shot pheasants hang ready to be sold by the farmers in the local livestock market near to the city of Salisbury in Wiltshire, England. Pheasants are common here and eat the grain that is sown in the fields. They are also bred for hunting with shotguns. Leica M9 with 35mm Summarit f2.5. 1/30th at f2.5 @1600 iso. Gerry

Last night I took a trip into the centre of the city to look at the temporary ice rink but also took the opportunity to photograph the latest city centre leisure complex consisting of 10 cinema screens and countless restaurants. The ice rink is visible as the blue area bottom left, but not the purpose of this image. I must be honest, it is probably a young persons place, and I am not a young person, but I was quite pleased with my efforts. Here is a sample image taken at 2500iso using the Leica M240 and 24mm Elmarit-M f2.8. Settings were 1/45 at f2.8 (no tripod). Having my M9 stuck in repair for a sensor replacement for 7 weeks and being told it would be at least another 6 weeks to get sorted, I decided on the spur of the moment that the only answer was to trade in my M7 and get a M240. The annoying thing is that the M9 went in for an unrelated problem and they said "whilst it is here we will replace the sensor for you". However I now have the M240 and took the first test shots with it today. The location was my back garden (not the most inspiring place in the world) and I was quite pleased with this one out of the very few I took. The lens was my Zeiss 50mm Sonnar f1.5. Gerry

I have just rediscovered a couple of rolls of HP5+ which I shot in 1998, developed and filed away. They are of a trip to London I took on our wedding anniversary, but have never printed. As far as I can remember/guess they were taken with a Leica M3 and 50mm Summicron f2 but I have no idea what I processed them in. I have now scanned them, and they are mainly of Pearly Kings and Queens arriving for the traditional Harvest Festival service at the church of St. Martins-in-the-Fields which is on trafalgar Square, London. Here is just 4 as a taster (the first one also shows a Chelsea Pensioner) Gerry
