So sehr ich diese Marke ob ihrer tollen Geschichte, Technik und Objektivqualität liebe und gerne mehr einsetzen würde, aber für den professionellen Bereich ist sie leider durch das schlechte Service unbrauchbar. Das Reinigen eines Objektives, welches mit 3,1 Arbeitsstunden a 149.- netto veranschlagt wurde, dauert über ein Monat !! Rücksendung erfolgt erst nach mehrmaligem dringlichen Anruf. Darum werde ich weiterhin für den professionellen Bereich die Japanischen Produkte bevorzugen, den die haben verstanden worauf es ankommt. Schade Leica!

Hi all, I have just inherited 1/ M2 serial no. 1099 307 with leather case. 2/ 11 112 D Elmar lens 1:2.8/50 in a plastic jar and original box. 3/ Summicon 1:2/90 in a leather case . 4/ 11870 Z Summilux 1:1.4/35 with caps and in it's original box. 5/ Leica-METER MR 6/ yellow coloured lens 7/ 2 hoods, one being an Ollux 1:14/35 but the Ollux name isn't on it. It has the no.12522 H in it's place. And the other hood is a 12585 H. All of these items are like brand new except the boxes. They look there age but in tact. What do you think, did I do well? Liebe Leica Enthusiasten, Meine Mutter hat mir vor einigen Monaten eine Kamera geschenkt, welche davor eine ältere Frau wegwerfen wollte, da sie mit der alten Kamera ihres verstorbenes Mannes nichts anfangen konnte. Ich kenne mich nicht mit Kameras aus und würde die Leute in diesem Forum um Rat bitten. Um welches Modell es sich denn bei der Kamera und den Objektiven handelt und bestmöglich aus welchem Jahr diese stammen. Selber konnte ich nicht nachschauen da ich die Seriennummer nicht finden konnte.Tipps was ich mit der Kamera machen sollte und alle weiteren Informationen sind erwünscht und ich bin dankbar für jede Hilfe. Greetings Leica Enthusiasts, Recently my mother gave me an old camera that some lady wanted to throw away. All I know is that it's a Leica M6 and the names of the lenses included were Summilux 1:1.4/50; Elmarit-M 1:2.8/28; Summicron-M 1:2/90. The bag also contained a flash. It's a Metz mecablitz 20 BC 3. And the leather bag itself is from Leitz and is apparently made for the camera. All the things are in usable shape but not exactly like they came fresh out of the factory. I don't know anything about these cameras, neither can I ask the man who bought them, because the camera belonged to the old lady's husband who died many years ago. I added pictures to a public dropbox folder. If anynone could just take a look over these pictures and tell me where the serial number is on a M6 or from what year the camera or the lenses are, I would really appreciate that. Of course I will take any other form of information and help, so thank you all in advance. Lastly I would like to apologize if I included some grammar mistakes since English is not my native tongue. Hi All, I recently just purchsed the Leica M10 (upgraded from the M240), and would like to seek your advice on which of the 2 lenses above I should get. I have attached the following list of bodies and lenses that I currently have. M10 M6 Konica Hexanon 60mm F1.2 Leica 50mm F2 Summicron APO Leica 35mm F2 Summicron Version 2 (8 elements) I shoot with my digial M 95% of the time (well I did only just recently purchased the M6) with my 50APO. I plan on using the 8 Elements more on the M6 for Black and White photography. So now that I am looking to add a wide angle lens, which of the 2 would you recommend? I know many people say that it's best to pair a 28mm with a 50mm, and a 24mm with a 35mm; and that 28 would work better if I wish to shoot some street + landscape, whereas the 24mm will be better for pure landscape. But do both lenses render really differently? Is it that much more convenient knowing that u do not need an EVF for the Elmarit? Could the Elmar be used for some street photography as well? And since the 28mm is much newer, does it have something the other doesn't? I would really appreciate if those of you who own / have used both lens could let me know your thoughts on both lenses performance wise, and which would you pick if you were me. Thanks a bunch! Hallo liebes Forum. Das ist mein erster Eintrag. Ich habe lange rumgesucht und keine Antwort auf folgendes Problem gefunden. Ich bin stolzer besitzer einer Leica M8u und habe seit ein paar Tagen das Voigtländer Nokton 50 1.1 an der Kamera. Mein Problem: Wenn ich perfekt fokussiere, sind die Bilder trotzdem unscharf. Der Fokuspunkt liegt immer etwas weiter hinten, als auf dem Punkt den ich durch den Sucher fokussiert habe. Ich habe Testfotos bei unterschiedlichen Blenden gemacht. Aber bei allen Einstellungen kommt am Ende ein unscharfes Bild zustande. Um scharf zu fotografieren, muss ich den Fokusring etwas weiter nach rechts drehen. Also über den Punkt hinaus, auf dem ich eigentlich scharfstellen will. So kann ich leider immer nur auf gut Glück fokussieren. Viele Bilder sind einfach nicht perfekt scharf. Das Probelm habe ich schon im Fotofachladen angesprochen. Der Techniker hat mir empfohlen den B+W IR-Sperrfilter zu kaufen, in der Hoffnung das das Fokusproblem mit ausgeglichen wird. Das hilft aber leider auch nicht. Ich habe noch zwei andere Objektive, ein 28mm Minolta mit Leica M Bajonett und ein Leica M 90mm. Beide fokussieren perfekt und präzise. Das Voigthländer hab ich gebraucht, aber so gut wie unbenutzt gekauft. Ich hoffe mir kann jemand helfen. Würde mich nur ungerne vom Voigtländer trennen, da es sonst ein sehr schönes Objektiv ist. Dear Camera Forum members, I have just bought my very first Leica (M2), which is for me quite a special moment. Now I also bought a Vivitar 283, which I don't tend to put on the hot-shoe (I know it's a cold-shoe anyways) but I want to connect it with a sync lead, so I can keep it in my hand while shooting. Can someone please inform me with their expertise on what sync cord will directly work, or do I need a flash adapter? Hey all! While anxiously waiting for this camera to become available, I was wonder if you can connect the TL2 directly to an iPhone or iPad using a Lightning to USB-C cable to import photos. Not sure is there is some kind of active component in the camera adapter that Apple sells, or if you'll be to import simply with this cable. Thanks in advanced! -
Just found out that my next M246 suffers from sensor issues. My first M246 was replaced because there was an error with the sensor on the first one, and now it's happening all over with the M246 which replaced the first one with sensor error; i have to send my next M246 to service. Three years ago i jumped in the water: I switched to Leica from Nikon (and a short period with Canon) after 25 years without any techinical faults or issues what so ever, and i never looked back. That is until now, because i'm wondering if i really want to stay with Leica after these experiences after all. Three years with severe errors on two different digital bodies (sensors). - Is this sufficent enough? - What would you expect from Leica's customer service in this matter? - Would you go the other way around again, turn the back on Leica and return to Nikon based upon the experiences these (first) three years? Or shall i just tolerate this?

Hello guys, my name is Mat, I'm from Argentina. About a year ago I started shooting street photography with a Fuji X100T and for the last few weeks I've been really wanting to try and buy an M3, so I did it. I bought one, in a trusty camera shop here in Buenos Aires, and it seemed to work well, film advance, all shutter speeds and rangefinder worked well so I had no doubt about it and went for it. After about 3 hours of leaving the store, I sat on a bench to load some film and try it, when I removed the bottom plate a big chunk of the vulcanite broke down and fell, didn't even mind about that because it's replaceable, so I started shooting, finished a roll and left it to be developed and scanned. When I got back home later that day, I was fiddling with it and put the shutter speed dial in 1 sec, fired the shutter and heard it open but never close back, instantly I called the guys at the shop and told them this two problems, they told me to bring the camera to them the next day and that they'd take care of the service charges. Today I left the camera on the shop and went to the lab for the scans and the negatives, when I got home I saw this: And this: Some photos had this "vignette"-like thing that looked like the photos were Extremely underexposed on one side/"correctly" exposed in the middle/overexposed on the other side, for example: AND, the few photos that looked "fine" had this weird black line on one side like this: This one has all of the problems at once: And there's this one that looks fine without any problems besides the shitty quality of the scan: I do not really know if the problem is part of this shutter curtains issue, or if it's the lens, by the way I'm using an Elmar 50mm 2.8, maybe I didn't extend it all the way it should be extended or it might be another problem, but please note that this is my first experience with an M camera and I still don't have the skills that the M call for. I've kept my Summarit-M 90mm in the dry cabinet for some time. I recently took it out and found the rubber ring turned white or kind of greyish. I tried a cleaner pen from Lens Potion. The website is www.LensPotion.com

Hallo liebe Community, Ich würde gerne mehr über meine Leica III wissen, was zum Beispiel ihre Seriennummer angeht ob sie mit eine "berühmten" Leica in ihrem Seriennummernradius hergestellt wurde oder ob der weg den sie zurück gelegt hat irgendwie nach verfolgt werden kann. Dear Leica lovers! A while ago I bought my first Leica, an M2. And I've been shooting some test rolls on the street. I've connected a Vivitar 283 flash to it (keeping it in my hand, connected with a cord), mostly shooting t-max 400 on a shutter speed of 500 (quite fast?). Now I keep having some issues with the shutter speed and exposure of the flash on the photos... Maybe there's quite a simple answer to my question... Probably my shutter speed still is too slow or too fast, or could it be my lens (Carl Zeis Biogon M, 28mm)? But I would love to learn from people with more expertise than I have at this moment. What can I do to get my flash properly exposed on my photo's? I've attached an example! Thank you in advance!

I wonder, Leica Partnered up with Huawei for a Phone, the P9, the P10 and so on. They even sell them in the Leica Stores, all around. Wonderful phones, I got both, Like them a Lot. Now i wonder, i changed from the M240 to the M10, and apparently, there is an app for it. But strangely not for Android, only for IoS. Isn't this something that questions logic? Selling in same-store Android phones with the brand name on it. AND the camera's that can use the APP technology for some functions. Only the both aren't compatible? ... So my question is, is there an Android app for the M10? And will there be one ? In order to restore logic ? Thanks ju

I'm selling my 21mm Super Angulon f/4 M mount in favor of something a little more "practical". While in Cuba earlier this year, I found myself using the Zeiss 28mm f/2.8 on my Contax G2 quite a bit but for my next few trips, I'll bring only a couple of M bodies (M7 & Typ 246). I really love the results that I got out of my Zeiss and am wondering if I should go with another Zeiss (25mm f/2.8 or 28mm f/2.8) OR a new-ish 28mm Elmarit ASPH. So my two questions are "is the Elmarit ASPH quality worth more than double the price of a used Zeiss 25mm or 28mm?" and "In order to keep my work consistent, should I just stick with the Zeiss 28mm f/2.8 for the way it renders colors?" Examples of my work in Cuba with the 28mm f/2.8 on the Contax G2 below. Both photos with Portra 400.
