Hi there, I recently purchased an M6 and plan to shoot black and white film with my 35 Summicron Version 2 8 Element lens. I read that many people use either the orange / yellow filter when it comes to shooting monochrome, I would just like to get your thoughts on which one serves better as an all purpose lens? And how exactly are they different when applied? Thanks! Regards, Jeffrey

Hi All, I recently just purchsed the Leica M10 (upgraded from the M240), and would like to seek your advice on which of the 2 lenses above I should get. I have attached the following list of bodies and lenses that I currently have. M10 M6 Konica Hexanon 60mm F1.2 Leica 50mm F2 Summicron APO Leica 35mm F2 Summicron Version 2 (8 elements) I shoot with my digial M 95% of the time (well I did only just recently purchased the M6) with my 50APO. I plan on using the 8 Elements more on the M6 for Black and White photography. So now that I am looking to add a wide angle lens, which of the 2 would you recommend? I know many people say that it's best to pair a 28mm with a 50mm, and a 24mm with a 35mm; and that 28 would work better if I wish to shoot some street + landscape, whereas the 24mm will be better for pure landscape. But do both lenses render really differently? Is it that much more convenient knowing that u do not need an EVF for the Elmarit? Could the Elmar be used for some street photography as well? And since the 28mm is much newer, does it have something the other doesn't? I would really appreciate if those of you who own / have used both lens could let me know your thoughts on both lenses performance wise, and which would you pick if you were me. Thanks a bunch! Cheers, Jeffrey

The only item that has attracted my attention in the launch of the new TL system is the EVF Visoflex Type 020 and I believe that the Leica M system deserves an updated version of its EVF with higher resolution, sensor for the eye (to switch it on/off), a tilt and swivel movement for more convenience....so Leica I hope this one is coming Your thoughts / input please...

Hey my name is mike and i've had my m4 since june and absolutely love the camera. I got it cla'd by yye camera and it works great. Only issue is I love to shoot with flash and when I try doing so with this camera it is extremely unreliable.. I have never used the leica brand pc sync cord's and was curious if that could be the issue, but have tested the cords I have on all of the other film cameras I own and they work no problem at all. I have the vivitar 285hv and that comes with a sync cable already attached to the flash then put the other end on the socket of the camera and it works about 10 percent of the time. My other method was buying a hot shoe adapter and then putting my metz flash atop / and or my small nikon this again only worked rarely and with intense fidgeting of the cable. If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot. Best, Mike

Hi all, My 75mm M APO-Summicron recently started giving a slight 'click' when I turn the aperture ring over the 1.2m to 1.5m range. It doesn't seem to affect image quality or focus in any way, it just feels like something is wrong/stuck inside the lens when focussing. The lens has not been exposed to sand/dust nor to bangs/blows. Any experiences/ideas? Could it be the floating element? Thanks in advance!

Have searched for a while for the ultimate pouch (neoprene, not leather) for my Leica M lenses. Finally found one for the "average" Leica/Zeiss/Hexanon lens. This bag can also be hooked to the belt via the sewn loop, having enough room for a finger to reach for the lens. I cut off the adjacent carabiner as it was useless. Now I can stack two lenses on top of each other (I have 4) in my ONA bag. I am not naming any brands, I am not associated with anyone, just informing anyone that was after such product that this company is in Munich, Germany and on amazon.de. They have even smaller (XXS) bags but they are too tiny for Leica lenses. The proper size they offer for the pouch IMHO was XS (7cm x 8cm). The bags are not the icons of design, nor very beautiful, but they do get the job done. PLEASE SHARE YOUR LEICA LENS POUCH EXPERIENCE(S).

this picture stressed me a lot... I missed the blue hour and there have been millions of people on the street and in front of the building. So, considering the circumstances... I'm still quite happy with the result. Festival of Lights Berlin by Dirk Raffel, auf Flickr

For me as long as I put 39-M adapter on them, for decades, I don't see why not using those with more practical Leica M which even exist in digital form. They (LTM lenses ) are "different" (some have nothing to compare with them in native M mount. Seen on old thread my favorites images taken with them, so I'd like to hear from you taken with Leica M6 Summicron collapsible 5cm LTM on Tmax 100 ... They are lovely on digital M too Summaron 3.5/3.5cm, M10 not the sharpest (of course), but I like those 'flaws' Elmar 4/90mm on M10

Hi everybody, I am a surprised but a proud owner of a leica sl since this weekend. I got an offer for the SL just the body, which I couldn't refuse and had only a few minutes to decide me. I've been using the M for a few years now and preferably with the 35mm or with my favorite focal length the 90mm. One year ago I made the choice of all leica, sold my 6d gun slr and bought a CL. First for the size of the CL system and to be able to use my M optics. I know many of you use it and love it but even if the image quality is there most of the time, I'm a little disappointed by the native optics of the system. I use the 11-23mm and 18-56mm zooms and the 18mm. I sold the 23mm which didn't excite me and preferred the 18mm for its compactness. the tl-35mm, which is not a focal length I use, was not an option. I regret having left the Canon EF lenses. I'm trying my luck again at leica, hoping it's the right one. But here it is, I don't have a native lens and I'm wondering about the choice of a first L lens to take for the SL. Even if my first choice would be the SL 90, summicrons are not in my budget, until I decide if I keep or sell my CL system. TL lenses are obviously a possibility but I don't expect better than with the CL and apparently just with a resolution of 10 million pixels. So the vario 24-90? But its size... the sigma? the Panasonic? I'm not against your advice! Cheers
