Cosina drops 4 variants of the newest 28mm f/1.5 classic 60-year-old design lens: aluminium, obviously lightweight (250g) and comes in silver and black, and brass (330g), which is solid and heavier and also comes in silver and matte black paint. The latter has a removable focusing pin that fits inside the focusing tab. MFD remains in the classic Voigtlander zone at 0.5m. Hoods are extra. All specs are available on their website. Will you get one? Update by LUF Admin 2024-01-04 Voigtländer just sent me images and specs, you’ll find them here:

For UWA lens fans and users: could you work/live with just one UWA lens to rule them all (say, 15mm or 18mm) or would you rather have two extreme sides of UWA (like Laowa 9mm/Voigtlander 10/12mm and a 21mm)? Your thoughts are appreciated.

Hi everyone! Voigtländer’s two most recent vintage lenses have been widely available for quite a few months, but I find very few “real life” reviews on line, and none from the usual suspects specifically, I am looking for feedback on personal experience/testing with the Color-Skopar 21mm f/3.5 VM on digital Ms (not curious about other 21mm lenses, nor Sony mount version, nor speculation based on specs sheet, nor inferences from the 35mm Ultron nor general talk about VM lenses). Anyone in this forum actually used the lens with a digital M yet? If yes, how did it perform for you (resolution/contrast, potential quirks in corners, distortion, vignetting, rendering in general, focusing reliability, etc) ? Please forgive me if the specific performance topic was already discussed in detail in this forum. Or can you point to any (good) output-based review blog/video (found one using film M, a couple showing lens rather than discussing performance and plenty of reviews for E-mount version)? Or simply pictures shot through the lens (preferably high res downloads)? i have seen the promotional picture samples published at launch, so no need to point there! Thanks beforehand!

Hi all. Receiving my silver M11 (first-time M user). While I am figuring out what first Leica lens to buy, I would like to buy a couple Voigtlander lenses to get me started. What Voigtlander lenses do you recommend? I know it depends on many factors. Here is what I am looking for. 28mm (or 35mm), 50mm, and 70mm, in not particular order. I looked at the Cameraquest chart, but so confusing. Maybe start with 2lenses, 28mm and a 50mm. Thanks for the advice and feedback i know this is a Leica forum and hoping I don’t upset anyone asking this question here. 😊

Can a BAD Lens be good?"

The focus post is a pain. It unscrews for removal which means one should be able to screw in a focus tab. I asked Gandy at Cameraquest who suggested someone could 3D print one. Does anyone here have expertise with doing so?

Back in October when I bought my M10-P I also picked up a Voigtlander 50mm f1.2 but the call of the Summicron is loud and I quite fancy picking up a 50mm f2. I like the Voigtlander albeit I think it’s a bit bigger than ideal and weighty too. Wondering if a Summicron (v4 or v5) is really that ‘much better’ than the Voigtlander and if I’ll save save weight/size if I swapped over to one. Thoughts anyone?
