The West Pennine Way

In the half term break I had a day where my son was at nursery and my wife at work. This meant I had a rare opportunity of having a day to myself. I had no idea what to do with myself. I decided to set off with the dog walking with the goal being to reach a local village called Affetside. The village is on the old Roman Road and has a lovely pub called the Pack Horse. My wife's family always called the The Pack Horse Inn "The Skull" as behind the bar is a human skull purported to be that of the executioner of the Earl of Derby. Anyway, I took along my M9 50 Summicron and CV15mm. The 15mm I am still getting used to and finding the best way to 'tame' it. I hope you enjoy the series. 2. Has anyone tried using the relatively new Voigtlander 15mm VM III Super Wide Helliar on the M240? What can you say about it?
3. The spectacular double cave and arch at Playa de Campiecho, in the Asturias (Spain), here with both openings shown in full in the amazing sunset light. I had to stand in the cold sea water for quite a while, but it was definitely worth it! Leica SL, Voigtlander 15mm. Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri

M2 + 15mm Images

Hello, I wrote a blog post about the M2 + 15mm camera combo. For those of you who are interested in reading it and seeing some of the 20+ photos I posted, check it out here: Leica M2 + a Voigtlander 15mm f/4.5 Thanks for your time! -Justin
6. Within Lightroom 4 there is a decent selection of lens profiles for the Leica M (as well as the S), but when attempting to download more in the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader not a single lens is shown when selecting "Leica" from the "Camera Make" column. I would think that at least the existing profiles would be there, but nothing! I am looking for a solution to correct for the color cast of the Cosina-Voigtländer 15mm and 21mm M lenses on the Leica M9. I bought the Super-Elmar M 18mm as a compromise, but I decided to go with the Leica 21mm and ditch the rest. In the meantime, I still need to correct the images I have made with the CV 15mm and 21mm. Does Lightroom 4 have the ability to correct these color casts like Cornerfix, or am I barking up the wrong tree? If not, where can I download Cornerfix profiles? Must I make my own?

Has anyone tried THIS 15 on a M ?

The Super Elmar 15 3,5 for R - Zeiss design : I'm vaguely tempted by it... there is one for sale at a not indecent price (about half than a new Zeiss 15 ZM); R to M adapters are easy to find... focusing ought not to be a big issue... of course : 1) Is terribly bulky compared to the CV 15 2) No way to manage UVIR filtering onto M8 3) Most important, it can be problematic (impossible ?) the use of an external VF on the accessory shoe... front is really WIDE. I wonder if someone in the forum has ever used this lens on a M8/M9.

Voigtlander 15mm or WATE on M9

I use one of the new VM mount Voigtlander 15mm wide angles on my M9. At first I had problems with it but with advice from these forums,I use both the 21mm F/2.8 setting in the camera + Cornerfix and the images are "clean" again. I was thinking I may have to get the 16-18-21 WATE, and am still actively considering it, as this is a group of focal lengths I use a lot. However there are some concerns that I have, for which I would like to "pick the brains" of people who have used both.(N.B. With the WATE I would use the 16mm setting the most.) Firstly, I'm very impressed by my 15mm in terms of sharpness & I've seen some samples from the WATE which are no better. For example is this a good representation of what the WATE can do?. http://a.img-dpreview.com/gallery/leicam9_preview/originals/l1070505_aw.jpg This image from the dPreview review of the M9 is not as sharp as my 15mm. Would you expect better from the WATE? Secondly I'm a bit concerned about the 16-18-21 viewfinder. The lens itself is quite small and light but this viewfinder looks a monster. If anyone has experiences of using both and would be happy to share their experiences/opinions I'd be very grateful, since the chances of me getting to try one out are remote.

Sr Severin interior, Paris

I visited the St Severin church in Paris that was still half in the shadows, with a tranquil interior. For me, the serene dark atmosphere conveys the feeling of 19th century paintings. M8, 15 mm, F 5.6, 320 ASA, 1/8 sec handheld, exposure manually set. (I like the grain here of the 320 ASA, it is very functional.) I personally like the first picture most. albert
