  1. I found humour in 4th juxtaposition of the very thin person and the billboard for oversized clothing (Southampton, England). Leica M6 + 50mm Summicron F2. Kodak Portra 400CN film. Taken in 2002. Gerry
  2. Taken in the Cultural Quarter of Southampton during Graduation Week for Solent University (Southampton, England) Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5 Gerry
  3. Taken in the pedestrianised cutural quarter in the centre of Southampton. Leica M7 + 35mm Summarit f2.5 with Kodak Tri-X which was lab processed and then scanned using a Plustek 8200i and Silverfast software. Cropped from about one-third of original and post-processed using Lightroom Classic. Gerry
  4. Continuing my trawl through my archives, I found this from Chinese New Year in London 1998. I had been shooting with my first Leica (a M3) for less than a year at this stage. Film was Fuji Neopan 400 and the lens was an old Summicron 50mm f2. Gerry
  5. I escaped into the Hampshire countryside yesterday for the first time since lockdown started, and found this beautiful scene in the South Downs National Park. Hope you like it! Leica M240 = 35mm Summarit-M f2.5. 1/250 @ f8 & 250 iso. Gerry
  6. Whilst sat at the traffic lights today I noticed this guy and managed to shoot it very quickly through the closed window of my car. First time I have tried this. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit f2.5 and 320 iso. Gerry
  7. South Downs National Park, Hampshire, England. Not the best of weather, but trying to get out of the rut. I am also trying to change direction away from street photography a bit: Leica M240 + 50mm Summicron-M f2 Gerry
  8. Life is pretty quiet photographically for me at the moment, mostly due to really bad weather with heavy rain which makes street photography almost impossible. This means I am continuing my journey through my archives, and this I had forgotten. It shows a typical English pastime - playing bowls. The white clothes are the standard dress for everyone, and afternoon tea is almost compulsory. English tradition at its best. Leica M3 + 50mm Summicron f2. Ilford 400 Delta. 1997.
  9. "He likes to pose" his owner said when I asked for permission to photograph, and he certainly did! Leica M7 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5/ Film was Kodak T-Max400 commercially processed and then scanned at home. The shadows were a bit of a problem but the scanner (Plustek 8200i + Silverfast) got through them well. Gerry
  10. From todays walk in Centenary Quay, Southampton: © Gerry Walden/gwpics.com 2020 Leica M240 + 24mm Elmarit-M f2.8 ASPH
  11. Something a little different for me - looking north over Houghton Down: the beauty of the Hampshire countryside today. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5. Gerry
  12. Second image from my recent outing. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit f2.5 @ 250iso Gerry
  13. Today I took a trip out to continue my efforts to "recentre" my work away from street photography. At the moment it is difficult because I am having fairly severe problems walking, but this is one of the resulting images: "Walking in fields of gold" - Leica M240 + 24mm Elmarit-M f2.8 ASPH. Gerry
  14. From todays walkabout in the centre of Southampton. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5 Gerry
  15. Taken in the low winter light recently using the M240 and 35mm Summarit f2.5 at 400iso. 1/330 f8. 'Nipper' is the name of the dog emblem which has been used by 'His Masters Voice' music company for decades to promote their products. I can only assume this young lady was on her way to work. Gerry
  16. Taken yesterday at one of my favourite 'hunting' spots. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit f2.5 @ 320 iso.
  17. New to my street photography gallery: June 2019Leica M7 + 35mm Summarit f2.5 lens. Kodak Tri-X.

  22. I particularly like the two faces in the background! Leica M240 with 50mm Zeiss Sonnar f1.5 lens. 1/750 f8 @ 320iso. Gerry
  23. I took my regular visit to my favourite city-centre coffee shop and when he served me the guy behind the counter said "Have you taken any good snaps yet today?". I hadn't, but whilst I sat there with my coffee and Danish this scenario appeared in front of me. It is a candid image, and they did not notice me at any time. I used my M240 fitted with the 50mm Zeiss Sonnar f1.5 and I was working at 1,000iso. Exposure was 1/60th @ f6.8. post-processing was in Lightroom Classic. Hope you like it! Gerry
  24. This image forms part of my further adventures into colour street photography after shooting black and white for 60+ years. It is a learning curve involving a different way of seeing, but one which I am enjoying (even if I do not get it right!) Gerry
