1. A simple grab shot from my outing yesterday. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5. 1/250 f6.8 @ 320iso Gerry

Thinking!

Student life is returning to my favourite cafΓ©. I took this image about a metre from the young lady without being noticed, she was so deep in thought. this image is uncropped. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5 - 1/60 f4 @ 800iso. Gerry
3. A candid available light image taken in my favourite coffee shop. About 50% crop from original. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5. 1/500 f4.8 @320iso - b&w conversion from original .dng file using Lightroom Classic. Gerry
4. I thought I would try colour for a change. It constantly amazes me that I (1.8m tall and 104kg) can stand there and photograph without being noticed! Leica M240 - 1/30th f6.8 @ 320iso handheld. Gerry
5. I took this charming image candidly at my favourite cafΓ©. It is not my normal practice to talk to my subjects, but if there are children involved I normally introduce myself and explain what I have done and ask for permission to use the image. I don't recall ever having been refused, although it is slightly more awkward shooting film as opposed to digital because you cannot show the parent the image. This young mother was quite happy with what I had done. Leica M7 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5 using Kodak T-Max 400 and only available light. 1/125 @ f2.8
6. Another from the last film I processed. Taken just standing and shooting on the street, so a 'grab' shot. This is a crop from the full frame. I must confess that I quite like the look of the film even though it is clearly not the 'original' Agfa product and is a bit grainy so has to be worked on Maybe a change in developer would calm it down. Leica M6 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5. Agfa APX400 processed in Adox FX39ii. Gerry
7. Another from my favourite cafe. This is a candid shot taken handheld at 1/30th @ f2.5 by available light. Leica M6 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5. Agfa APX400 film processed in Adox FX39. Gerry
8. I have struggled with his image for a long time (I actually took it in 1997) mainly because I shot it on Agfa Vista 800 colour films nd the train after scanning was horrendous. I have now had another go using Dfine 2 to try and calm the grain down, and have produced this which I am reasonably pleased with. Taken with a Leica M6 using available light only in the Louvre in Paris. Sorry, no other details are available. Gerry
9. I am so pleased that another step towards normality has happened, and I can again sit and drink coffee at my favourite cafe Mettricks Guildhall in the centre of Southampton. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5 Gerry
10. From todays walkabout in the centre of Southampton. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5 Gerry

13. Hi, first 'photo' post here and almost the first roll of film I've run through the M3. Film is very old TX400 and lens Rigid Summicron Type II. Exposure is a little (a lot) off at times, but I'm using an old Leica Meter combined with a healthy dose of Sunny 16 as I don't trust it much. C& C of course welcome and your tips on how to use the M3 in street photos is much appreciated.
14. This morning I had a second go with my MM and SF-24D flash, which I hate. Lens was 28mm summicron. For clarity, I was going for an exaggerated flash that would create a stark contrast The crack flash doesn't allow a shutter faster than 1/180. So I'm considering upgrading.
15. A popular shopping street for the young crowd in Tokyo. Takashita Street by acetonic, on Flickr Takeshita St. Harajuku by acetonic, on Flickr Takeshita St. Harajuku by acetonic, on Flickr Takeshita St. Harajuku by acetonic, on Flickr
16. Unusually, someone who seems happy to be the subject of a candid photograph. M6TTL, 35mm Summicron, APX400
17. My daughter all grown up now, still having the feel and ability to be a good subject for an impromptu shoot on a beautiful beach day here in Barbados. Have a great day!
18. I am slowly managing to get out more now, ands back in my usual coffee shop yesterday. I couldn't resist taking a candid image of this young lady at the counter because of her height. She must have been about 1.8 metres. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit f2.5 @ 1250 iso. 1/250 @ f2.8 and post-processed in Lightroom Classic. Gerry
19. It was great to finally be able to get out to my favourite cafe yesterday and drink coffee with a friend I haven't seen since Christmas. I have been having problems with my knee and have found walking almost impossible but thankfully I am just using one stick now. This is one image I grabbed whilst sat outside the cafe in the beautiful sunshine Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit f2.5 Gerry
20. I have shot very little this past year for various health and Covid reasons. Here is one that I was pleased with from my favourite cafΓ©. It is a grab shot as I just had the camera resting on the table and didn't look through the viewfinder. Leica M7 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5. Kodak T-Max 400 at 400. No exposure values recorded. Commercially processed and scanned at home. Gerry
21. It is that time of year again when one of the local universities holds its graduation ceremony. I captured this scene of a couple of students making their way to the ceremony in the obligatory mortarboard and gown. Leica M240 + 50mm Summicron-M f2. 1/2000 f3.4 @ 320iso Gerry
22. This image forms part of my further adventures into colour street photography after shooting black and white for 60+ years. It is a learning curve involving a different way of seeing, but one which I am enjoying (even if I do not get it right!) Gerry
23. This was taken in the downtown area of Southampton where I had been photographing in the small street market. I was about to get back into the car when I turned and saw this scene. The image really is a quick 'grab' shot without reseting anything. It is from June 2019, don't be fooled by the 2015 on the caption which is the film number. Leica M7 and Tri-X film commercially processed.
24. While I was having coffee at my favourite place this guy was sat running his office over his cup of coffee. "Hi, it's Mike the Magician" he said down the telephone. Sadly the guy at the other end didn't seem to know who he was. I took this candid shot of him with the M240 + 50mm lens at 1600iso. I then processed it through Lightroom Classic. Hope you like it! Gerry
