1. I am slowly managing to get out more now, ands back in my usual coffee shop yesterday. I couldn't resist taking a candid image of this young lady at the counter because of her height. She must have been about 1.8 metres. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit f2.5 @ 1250 iso. 1/250 @ f2.8 and post-processed in Lightroom Classic. Gerry
2. I have shot very little this past year for various health and Covid reasons. Here is one that I was pleased with from my favourite café. It is a grab shot as I just had the camera resting on the table and didn't look through the viewfinder. Leica M7 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5. Kodak T-Max 400 at 400. No exposure values recorded. Commercially processed and scanned at home. Gerry
3. It was great to finally be able to get out to my favourite cafe yesterday and drink coffee with a friend I haven't seen since Christmas. I have been having problems with my knee and have found walking almost impossible but thankfully I am just using one stick now. This is one image I grabbed whilst sat outside the cafe in the beautiful sunshine Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit f2.5 Gerry

Time for Tea

Taken at my favourite cafe today: Leica M240 = 35mm Summarit-M f2.5 @1600 iso. I applied a Kodachrome effect plug-in during processing in Lightroom CC. Gerry
5. Hi, first 'photo' post here and almost the first roll of film I've run through the M3. Film is very old TX400 and lens Rigid Summicron Type II. Exposure is a little (a lot) off at times, but I'm using an old Leica Meter combined with a healthy dose of Sunny 16 as I don't trust it much. C& C of course welcome and your tips on how to use the M3 in street photos is much appreciated.
6. This morning I had a second go with my MM and SF-24D flash, which I hate. Lens was 28mm summicron. For clarity, I was going for an exaggerated flash that would create a stark contrast The crack flash doesn't allow a shutter faster than 1/180. So I'm considering upgrading.
7. Unusually, someone who seems happy to be the subject of a candid photograph. M6TTL, 35mm Summicron, APX400
8. Hi folks, I'm putting together a presentation for my photo club on "street photography." I'm planning to cover the following topics: • History / background • Legal aspects of it • What makes good street photography • Tips and Tactics Of course my initial research led me to HCB and some of the other recognized greats, and I plan to cover them in the "history/background" section of the talk. But wondering if you can share some of your own links or pointers on the subject. I have combed through hundreds of forum posts and threads here on the L-camera-forum (including the thread in which taping methods for "stealth" were argued, for example). I feel that my searches have been exhaustive, so I'm looking to tap the collective for *new* insight that hasn't been covered in threads here. Anything you share would be greatly appreciated, even if it's as simple as "here's a great street photographer's portfolio -- check it out!" Thank you!

10. I took my regular visit to my favourite city-centre coffee shop and when he served me the guy behind the counter said "Have you taken any good snaps yet today?". I hadn't, but whilst I sat there with my coffee and Danish this scenario appeared in front of me. It is a candid image, and they did not notice me at any time. I used my M240 fitted with the 50mm Zeiss Sonnar f1.5 and I was working at 1,000iso. Exposure was 1/60th @ f6.8. post-processing was in Lightroom Classic. Hope you like it! Gerry
11. New to my street photography gallery: June 2019Leica M7 + 35mm Summarit f2.5 lens. Kodak Tri-X.
12. This was taken in the downtown area of Southampton where I had been photographing in the small street market. I was about to get back into the car when I turned and saw this scene. The image really is a quick 'grab' shot without reseting anything. It is from June 2019, don't be fooled by the 2015 on the caption which is the film number. Leica M7 and Tri-X film commercially processed.
13. I was just leaving the waterside park area when I spotted this guy. I was already driving so I drove back around the park and parked up so that I could catch him. It had just been pouring with rain so I think he stopped under the tree to take shelter, but he then sat on the wet grass. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit f2.5. Shot as .dng and converted to black and white in Lightroom Classic. Hope you like it Gerry
14. This image forms part of my further adventures into colour street photography after shooting black and white for 60+ years. It is a learning curve involving a different way of seeing, but one which I am enjoying (even if I do not get it right!) Gerry
15. While I was having coffee at my favourite place this guy was sat running his office over his cup of coffee. "Hi, it's Mike the Magician" he said down the telephone. Sadly the guy at the other end didn't seem to know who he was. I took this candid shot of him with the M240 + 50mm lens at 1600iso. I then processed it through Lightroom Classic. Hope you like it! Gerry

18. I thought I would try colour for a change. It constantly amazes me that I (1.8m tall and 104kg) can stand there and photograph without being noticed! Leica M240 - 1/30th f6.8 @ 320iso handheld. Gerry

Student life is returning to my favourite café. I took this image about a metre from the young lady without being noticed, she was so deep in thought. this image is uncropped. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5 - 1/60 f4 @ 800iso. Gerry
20. A simple grab shot from my outing yesterday. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5. 1/250 f6.8 @ 320iso Gerry
21. It is that time of year again when one of the local universities holds its graduation ceremony. I captured this scene of a couple of students making their way to the ceremony in the obligatory mortarboard and gown. Leica M240 + 50mm Summicron-M f2. 1/2000 f3.4 @ 320iso Gerry
22. Whilst sat at the traffic lights today I noticed this guy and managed to shoot it very quickly through the closed window of my car. First time I have tried this. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit f2.5 and 320 iso. Gerry
23. From todays walkabout in the centre of Southampton. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5 Gerry
24. I am so pleased that another step towards normality has happened, and I can again sit and drink coffee at my favourite cafe Mettricks Guildhall in the centre of Southampton. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5 Gerry
