This is the very first walk with my new camera. I always go the same walk just to our fort from where there is a nice and wide view over our city. Winter offers a clear view, trees are barren (which is a thing to regret) and not disturbing the view too much. We get nice dramatic skies then. Handling is uncomplicated a fine, the new look has to be discovered and explored. Leica Q

Church towers are best to get a panroamic view on the cities. Here we climbed the tower of the church adjacent to the cathedral. The churches all over are constructed with brick stones and are with their gothic style quite dark and gloomy. We could were not very much enthusiastic about them but it is worthwhile yet to climb the towers where possible. Unfortunately the sight was very limited because we had this rainy weather with humid grey sky. The Leica Q did an impeccable job and could even get the dark stones as well as the sky without any significant losses.

I was looking through a photog magazine and came across a photo which immediately caught my eye due to such a DOF and the photo was wide angle. In the remarks it was identified the photo was made using the "Brenizer Method" so i followed the link to get more information. see https://photographylife.com/advanced-photography-techniques-brenizer-method-panorama for details. In a nutshell he uses a long portrait lens at widest aperture and makes a stitched image using several photo in photoshop. Apparently this produces a photo inherently close to a medium format look with lots of details. Now, If say you wanted a similar effect but without all the photo shop work, can the Leica 21mm Summilux-M @f/1.4 produce a similar photo ? There are plenty of photos on net where the individual was shooting an object at f/1.4 and the isolation from that lens is fairly spectacular. My question then is how much diff is there between the Brenizer method and the 21 lux. I dont have a 21 lux to compare but I was going to try with a 35mm lux later today to see what I get. Thx MJ

Ich mag das Format 6X17. Leider gibt es nur eine digitale Kamera auf dem Markt, die dieses Format abbildet - die Seitz 6X17. Die Kamera liegt aber in einer finanziellen Größenordnung, die für mich nicht in Frage kommt. Es gibt diverse Lösungen am Markt, die es erlauben, Einzelaufnahmen zu dem Wunschformat zusammenzufügen. Ich hatte meine Anforderungen wie folgt für die Leica M9 formuliert: - Einfach, auch bei schlechten Sichtverhältnissen zu bedienen. - kompakt - so wenig Techik wie möglich Vor kurzem habe ich den Panorama Shift Adapter von Zörk aus München erhalten. Zusammen mit der Pentax Linse 35 mm. Von meinen ersten "Gehversuchen" möchte ich berichten - vielleicht ist es ja für den einen oder anderen von Interesse. Der Adapter konvertiert Leica M auf Pentax 645. Ich habe die optional erhältliche L-Schiene mit bestellt, sodass nicht die Linse sondern die Kamera geshiftet wird. Auf dem Adaper sind drei Markierungen angebracht - Position Mitte, Links und Rechts. Verschiebt man über die Markierung hinaus, wird die vorhandene Vignettierung verstärkt, die sich aber leicht entfernen bzw. wegschneiden läßt. Es gibt einen Hebel, der eine schnelle Verstellung erlaubt und eine Schraube für die Feinjustierung. Die Qualität des Adapters macht einen sehr hochwertigen, robusten Eindruck. Der Workflow sieht wie folgt aus: - Objektiverkennung steht auf "Aus" - (der Adapter befindet sich in der mittleren Position) - Stativ aufstellen - Kamera ausrichten - (Blende und Fokussierung muss in der Regel nicht verändert werden) - Manuelle Belichtungsmessung in mittlerer Adapter Position - 1. Auslösung - Verschieben nach ganz rechts - 2. Auslösung - Verschieben nach ganz links - 3. Auslösung - Verschieben des Adapters in die mittlere Position für die nächste Aufnahme Die drei Auslösung benötigen inkl. Verschieben des Objektives ca. 2-4 Sekunden. Dieser kurze Zeitraum ist für mich wichtig, insbesondere dann, wenn sich die Belichtungsverhältnisse oder andere Dinge im Motiv ändern. Anbei Beispiele. (aufgrund eines falschen Parameters in der Kamera war die Belichtung etwas zu hell, was ich korrigiert habe - ansonsten wurden die Aufnahmen ausser dem Zusammenfügen der Bilder nicht verändert) Transport der Ausrüstung: Ich habe in der "Billingham für Leica" die Kamera samt 4 Linsen. Zusätzlich habe die die zwei Zusatztaschen angebracht, in die jeweils der Adapter und die Pentax-Linse untergebracht werden können. Eine sehr kompakte Lösung, gemessen an dem Umfang.

this pano was not being planned, so I only had a monopod with my MKII and R Summicron 50 mm. Stitching function of PSE was used. Weather is permanently changing now with dramatic sky and sun coming out or hidden. o shoot or gone, only one chance. My hometown is being situated in the hilly region of the Teutoburger Forest region.

Hallo Community, bin hier neu in der Community, bin neu mit der Leica, aber nicht neu in der Fotografie. Mein Steckenpferd sind virtuelle Panoramen, aus denen sich sehr schöne großformatige Bilder extrahieren lassen. Bei der Panoramafotografie muss man alle Automatik abstellen. So auch den Autofokus. Nun habe ich gedacht, dass ich mit der App die Kamera (Leica Q2) auslösen kann. Das kann ich zwar, aber nur mit Autofokus. So funktioniert das aber bei den Panos nicht. Ich habe mir nun eine mechanische Hilfe gebaut. Naja... Hat Jemand eine Idee, wie ich die Kamera fernauslösen kann, ohne Autofokus. Vorab schon mal vielen Dank, Ronald

I was not sure wether to start this thread in the Post Proc section, but since this was shot exclusively on the Leica X1 I decided to start this here. For an upcoming job I was testing a few lenses and Tripod callibrations on my Nikon D3x. Having shot panoramas before, I am well aware of the pitfalls of some of the newer lenses or the crazy sunex optics. Mostly I resort to shoot panoramas with very simple 35 mm primes, so as the X1 is a rather new adition to my kit, I thought : why not mount this little machine on the Manfrotto nodal head in an attempt to shoot a Panorama with this nifty little gadget. The following Panorama Test : " Shadows of the Attic" was an experiment to see how stitchable the images would be the Leica X1 delivered as I carry this camera around as 35 mm backup as well. The Image was assembled from 14 angles shot horizontally in one row ( ISO 400, 8Sec, F16, Each one Bracketed +-3 EV ), captured at 15° intervals which would roughly give me a third horizontal overlap for the shots. Apart from the very good image quality of the single shots, I was amazed how well the Images from the X1 were processed by various stitching softwares. I mainly use Autodesk Stitcher, but on this occasion also took a leap of faith and attempted an automatic photomerger in CS5. Initially the results seemed to be rather impressive, without much tweaking. However, on closer inspection I discovered a few problematic areas that arent visible on first sight. Question now: Has anyone ever tried panoramas on the X1, and have u come across any significant problems ? to see a higher resolution image of this experiment, please see this lightbox version on my flickr.

Moin, habe meine M9 mit dem Super-Elmar (18) und dem Summilux (50) im Panoramaeinsatz - erst mit Nodal-Ninja, jetzt mit PT4Pano. Letzteres ist eine wahre Freude, in der LFI 5/2012 wurde ja schon darüber berichtet. this summer is not what you call a dream. Permanently one has to look for shelter. This time it was a tower with a roofed platform 20 mtr altitude built 1897 on a hill in memory of the Prussian Queen Luise. From there one can have an overlook over a small part the rural area of a region called Ostwestfalen-Lippe. This is not an area with spectacular sights. It requires to be discovered at the second glance. This is a 35-frame panorama (65 megapixel) of Albarracín, a very nice town in north-east Spain. The light wasn't ideal but I believe the final picture may be worth a look. Leica M9-P, Elmarit 28 (IV)

Sometimes if the weather is prmising I drive up to my secret small place at a peat bog lake. It is very small and one can spend there a couple of hours sitting on a campstool, watching geese,swallows catching flies and watch people on their small boats. Leica Q, 4 shots, handheld

2001 (sicher auch andere ähnliche Buchhandlungen) verkauft zur Zeit Hans Gsellmanns* "Island" (2000, Styria, Graz) zum Sonderpreis. Der recht interessante Bildband besteht vorwiegend aus Panoramafotos. Die Bilder müssen in den 80er und 90er jahren entstanden sein. Im Nachwort gibt Hans Gsellmann an das er die Panoramaaufnahmen meist freihand mit dem 35er Summi gemacht hat. " ich verwende häufig Superweitwinkel, in der Landschaftswiedergabe setze ich aber auf das Panorama. Alle Panorambilder in diesem Buch setzen sich aus zwei Aufnahmen zusammen, die ich nacheinander fotografierte. Zur Orientierung im Sucher benütze ich die Gittermattscheibe. Die meisten Panormamen fotografierte ich "freihand". Natürlich nicht die mit extremen langen Brennweiten aufgenommen wurden. ..." Für die Projektion kann ich mir das Verfahren als ausreichend vorstellen. Aber wie fertigte man vor hugin und autopano etc. passgenaue Druckvorlagen ?. Es sind teilweise dynamische Motive drin (z.b Schafherde quert Flussfurt), teils Motive mit filligranen Mustern Ich konnte keinen Versatz, Stoss o.ä. feststellen. ? *Hans Gsellmann muss ein Urgestein der Leicavision sein. Er feierte heuer (laut ORF Stmk, + Kleine Zeitung) seinen 80sten. Falls er die Zeilen liest - Glückwunsch.

Ich würde mir gerne H.G. Eschs Fotoneuinterpretation des historischen Sattlerpanoramas der Stadt Salzburg von 1829 nochmals anschauen. In der neuen LFI ist eine Ausstellung des Panoramas in Hamburg erwähnt. Weiss jemand zufällig wann und wo ? H.G Eschs HP und die Suche in gurgel schweigen sich darüber aus.
