1. after the bombardement of hailscones was over I hurried to the garden to inspect the situation. Here are the survivors of the grim attack. Both with Canon 5D MKII+Elmarit R 60 mm, handheld - no time for any setup
2. last weekend had a few hours of low sunlight at noon which illuminated the foliage of the beechtrees. Still there was a glowing yellow and brown. Canon 5D MKII with Summicron 50 mm
3. my intention was to collect small things with my X1 and my newly acquired achromats. A newly cut hedge caught my attraction because it was "studded" with yellow little very hard apple like fruit. 2 achromats mounted provided a comfortable distance.

5. Some new attempts with ND filter on R-lenses 35, and close-ups with 90 and 180mm Here a few first results of a late summer day in our local Botanical Garden. The butterflies were very quickly moving so waiting was the only chance on this hot day. Have a look and I am thankful if your share a moment. 6. a sideglance is always worthwhile. Along the trail in a sunlit forrest I got these with the Canon 5D MKII and R-lens Elmarit 60 mm + APO Extender 2x. Enjoy the last sunrays of the autumnal season
7. Hello all, A question from a quite new M8 user. I'm often dissatisfied with the colors I get, especially with grass and leaves that come out more yellow-brownish than I like. Maybe even more pronounced in cloudy weather. It has been discussed here before, but some of the threads are old and maybe outdated? Manual and Auto WB doesn't make a big difference. I use a coded Summarit with original UV/IR filter and open the DNG files in Capture One 6.2 using the M8 Generic UV/IR profile. Save as TIFF 8-bit and sRGB color, and then work with this file further in Photoshop Elements 8.0 (adjust levels, remove color cast, convert to Jpeg....etc.) Is there a simple way to "standardize" this workflow so that I can come closer to the colors I want? Should I use the saturation and hue sliders, for instance? and what value/amount? Are there alternative color profiles I can use in Capture One besides the two M8 profiles that came with the program? I'm glad to hear what others have found out, especially those who use Capture One to make TIFF files. My monitor is not professionally calibrated but I feel it is quite correct, as the Jpegs from my Olympus E-PL1 seem very good (and Olympus is known for good colors stright out of camera ) I know the M8 needs more work to get it right, but all say this is possible. I love using the camera, and pictures are incredibly sharp even with sharpening disabled (as I use). from Geir

11. These days our local Botanical Garden is a festival of colors. Everybody is walking about uttering strange sounds like ooh and aah. Olympus OMD EM5 with Nocticron
12. These are very tranquil mild october days here. The sun, if it comes out is already very low. It then spreads a warm golden light. Wen I go to work I cross a little park and took my X1 to get the last glowing colors before they will be torn be one of those storms later on. X1 in the morning in a slightly humid air

14. this was also from that rainy day in our Botanical Garden. It look a bit like poppy. Focussing was very tricky because this blossom was swaying like anything permanently in a breeze of wind. Olympus OMD EM5 with Elmarit R 60 mm macro
15. On my way to my office I pass a small park with a huge hazel-nut tree. Every time I found it hard to capture these small blossoms swaying in the wind. I wanted to get the texture and found the lighting always difficult. I also tried Canon lenses but the Cron 50 mm and the Elmarit 90 mm were the best mounted on Olympus EM 5. 16. Our local Botanical Garden is rich in its variety of species and very attractve during the whole year. I go there very often because its near and a welcome source of inspiration and recreation. Since we are 4 weeks early this year every day is bringing new surprises. There is one corner where a few Japanese Maple trees are unfolding their beauty. Canon 5D MKII with Elmarit R 180 mm
17. the common tulip is a popular sight and here is one more attempt to frame it. Canon 5D MKII with Elmarit R 180 mm
18. nature is changing every day and only weekends are free for new discoveries. This time our trip lead us to explore our neighbourhood landscape. Canon 5D MKII with Elmarit R 28 mm, polarizer, ND graded filter. I found this combination is ideal and provides more contrast and helps controlling the bright sky and easier exposure on the landscape.

22. Did you need the yellow filter for the clouds? Could similar or same be achieved post? Having specified a Q2M I wonder whether I should be looking out to fit yellow or orange glass in front of all that nice Q2M design?
