1. Since spring has stopped for a while here I was searching my files for some color and found these from the pond of our local Botanical Garden. Feel free to count the leaves and thanks for looking.
2. Our local Botanical Garden is a fine after work recreation area. I tried out something when sun was very low and most flower beds were already veiled by summer's dusk. Canon 5D MKII with Elmarit R 60 mm macro plus Leica APO converter 2x, tripod, reflector and free external flash. It is a matter of patience and time to manipulate flash power and angle plus distance to reflector. flash bounced against reflector from slightly left flash bounced against reflector from above left without flash, only with reflector, longtime exposure approx. 1/2 - 1 sec.
3. the best afterwork relaxation is a visit to our local Botanical Garden. It is close and one has not to haul along the gear very much. These days light is fading more quickly and I was in a hurry to catch some last light, a reflector helped. both with Canon 5D MKII + Elmarit R 180 mm
4. Some new attempts with ND filter on R-lenses 35, and close-ups with 90 and 180mm Here a few first results of a late summer day in our local Botanical Garden. The butterflies were very quickly moving so waiting was the only chance on this hot day. Have a look and I am thankful if your share a moment. 5. this is my very first series of my new setup with Canon 5D MKII+Elmarit 180 mm, tripod, flashlight and handheld silver reflector. A quiet evening in our local Botanical Garden. You may have a look and perhaps you may enjoy the walk.
6. both taken using a D-LUX 3 and processed with Adobe Photoshop 7
7. Like so many I am in a lockdown situation, and as a safeguard I have not ventured out for many week because of my age and heart condition. Those around me are keen to keep me a live for some reason! 😄 I have therefore been exploring the home environment, and also exploring my under-used 24mm Elmarit-M f2.8 ASPH. Here is one from my garden which was taken with the Elmarit on my M240, and then converted to black and white in Lightroom CC. Technical details are 1/90 f8 @ 2000iso Init is pretty dark under the oak tree). Hope you like it! Gerry

10. The rhododendron bushes are in full colour rush, each one has its own special time and character. I spent a day trying out different Elmarit R lenses on Canon 5D MKII. Elmarit R 90 mm
11. In the city of Hannover there is a large area of gardens. The baroque part of the garden with the palace is a huge place. There is a fireworks competition being held annually with altogether 6 events during the summer months. At 6 p.m. people start to stroll around and look for a place to settle down for picknick on one of the benches or on the ground. Then at 10 p.m. the fireworks start and last for 30 minutes. This time it was a young Italian pyrotecnic group performing the mandatory piece was a part from Dvorak's symphony no 9 "From the New World". a second part was the group's own choice. It was nasty cold and people were right to wear winter jackets, caps, shawls and gloves! At least it did not rain. In 30 minutes time we enjoyed a fantasy of colours and rhythmic scenic change. I had a gorgeous time and it was worthwhile having been there. Canon 5D MKII with R Summicron 50 mm apart from the first picture which is with R Elmarit 28 mm

16. Often I go to a location where there is agriculture, old orchards, farmhouses, in a word you find a lot of small things there and also a wide lanscape if clouds and sky are promising. This time it was the small things and this garden with early autumn colors. Olympus EM5 with Nocticron 42.5 mm
17. These last days were rainy, overcast and cold. To get my fill of fresh air after office I snatched my combo Olympus EM5 + Nocticron (Panasonic-Leica). Our Botanical garden is a rich field of experimentation and new discoveries. This time I discovered a part where trees, rhododendron and fern are forming a kind of jungle of exotic character.
18. again: every day our Botanical Garden has something different to show. Tulips are smashed after rain. But now all types of azaleas are in full swing. Canon 5D MKII Elmarit R 180 mm Olympus OMD EM5 Elmarit R 60 mm macro Canon 5D MKII Elmarit R 180 mm
19. This is also from the weekend, that calm rainy day in our Botanical Garden. It was drizzling and a faint thunder runmbling could be heard. Looking for some inspiration I found this single tulip. Canon 5D MKII on tripod, Olympus OMD EM5 handheld Olympus OMD EM5 with Elmarit R 60 mm macro Canon 5D MKII with Elmarit R 180 mm
20. Our city is going to celebrate its 800 years anniversary. Everywhere in the city in public greenery there can be seen these colors of our city. The Botanical Garden is paying its respect unfolding its magnificence in tulip arrangement. On this rainy saturday there were very few visitors and so I enjoyed, cameras in plastic bags, on on tripod, the other one handheld. Wo can tell the difference of sensor size, the lenses are the real treasures. Olympus OMD EM5 with Elmarit R 60 mm macro, handheld Canon 5 MKII with Elmarit R 180 mm, tripod
