My first Leica R series camera. I picked this up the other day and am very excited to use it! I sent it to DAG camera repair and it should be in my hands next week! Don is doing a complete overhaul on the camera, plus modifying the metering system to accept a modern battery. What can you tell me about this camera?

Hallo Forum! Enjoy - in English: http://mennigmann.com/photo/2016/01/d-lux-old-school-bw-photography-settings-guide/ Gruß, Marc

Dear all, I just received X Vario purchased thru eBay a few days ago. I was super exited but due to work, I havent had the chance to fully test the camera. I work in office and would see clear sky on weekends only.. (yeah.. bummer!! :-P) When shooting clear sky, I would see these clusters of spots. I have contacted the buyer and he said that he has never experience these spots on any of the pictures he's taken. He sounded genuine and as a good seller, he offered full refund or AUD100 for repair. (which is I dont know how much yet) The cluster of spots will move with auto focus movement

I've been using an M6TTL for a while now. I got the chance to acquire an R3 Mot + 3 lenses at a good price but found them to be a bit lumpy compared to the M6TTL so I've just traded the R gear for an M4-P in really nice condition. Okay, it hasn't got a meter but a combination of sunny16 and using my Minolta Auto Meter IVf in tricky conditions will get me through. I love the feel of the M4-P and the fact that no batteries are required. Anyone else here have one? Any stuff to watch out for?

Hi I have been using ADOX MCC 110 for all my prints since I got back into analogue, because this is basically the closest (if not the same) to the AGFA paper I used back in the days. I'm happy with the results, but would like to hear your view/advice on: -Is there any paper on the market that provides darker blacks and whither whites combined in one paper ? -Or is it more dependent on developers and downstream chemicals (I used Ilford suite) ? Thanks for your input. Regards NdV

I have newly purchased the Leica D-Lux 5. I used to have a passion for photography before my 'real life' swept that all away. So back to the here and now. I take images of gadgetry for blogs mainly mobile phones and accessories and have thus far used the inbuilt mobile smartphone cameras for this purpose and used the same for mobile phone functions and personal social events. The photo's and videos are not up to the standard I would wish them to be and I am really unhappy with the shots and videos that I do manage to take. So, I have purchased the Leica D-Lux 5 with this in mind and to re-

Hi there, my name is Wim, I’m from the Netherlands and I am new on this forum. I came here because i bought a Old black leica camera in a thriftstore. I got curious about the name of the model, if i can make it work, it’s value, and if i could clean and (if needed) repair it myself or if its better to bring it to an expert. I already did some research on the forum but i couldnt find my exact model and lens. Here are some pictures. I hope you can help me out with some info!

It was a wet and miserable day today but I insisted on dragging my wife out for some "Fresh Air" and an intention of taking some photos at one of our local villages - Bibury. Whilst walking along the road by the river, I noticed this black swan (Signet) and I have never personally seen one before so waited for a short pause in the rain and managed to take this photo of it - judging by the reaction from the local ducks and a couple of moorehens, they were not used to a black swan either.
