These last days were rainy, overcast and cold. To get my fill of fresh air after office I snatched my combo Olympus EM5 + Nocticron (Panasonic-Leica). Our Botanical garden is a rich field of experimentation and new discoveries. This time I discovered a part where trees, rhododendron and fern are forming a kind of jungle of exotic character.

This is also from the weekend, that calm rainy day in our Botanical Garden. It was drizzling and a faint thunder runmbling could be heard. Looking for some inspiration I found this single tulip. Our city is going to celebrate its 800 years anniversary. Everywhere in the city in public greenery there can be seen these colors of our city. The Botanical Garden is paying its respect unfolding its magnificence in tulip arrangement. On this rainy saturday there were very few visitors and so I enjoyed, cameras in plastic bags, on on tripod, the other one handheld. Wo can tell the difference of sensor size, the lenses are the real treasures. Olympus OMD EM5 with Elmarit R 60 mm macro, handheld Canon 5 MKII with Elmarit R 180 mm, tripod

Since spring has stopped for a while here I was searching my files for some color and found these from the pond of our local Botanical Garden. Feel free to count the leaves and thanks for looking.

Our local Botanical Garden is a fine after work recreation area. I tried out something when sun was very low and most flower beds were already veiled by summer's dusk. Canon 5D MKII with Elmarit R 60 mm macro plus Leica APO converter 2x, tripod, reflector and free external flash. It is a matter of patience and time to manipulate flash power and angle plus distance to reflector. flash bounced against reflector from slightly left flash bounced against reflector from above left without flash, only with reflector, longtime exposure approx. 1/2 - 1 sec.

the best afterwork relaxation is a visit to our local Botanical Garden. It is close and one has not to haul along the gear very much. These days light is fading more quickly and I was in a hurry to catch some last light, a reflector helped. both with Canon 5D MKII + Elmarit R 180 mm
