Hello everyone, I was lucky to have find this original 1950's Voigtlander Nokton 50mm 1.5. Can anyone tell what's the value of this vintage gem? I almost find no info on value from this original version. Thank you

I am considering buying a 35 Summilux preasph but have been considering also the 35 Nokton 1.4 from Voigtlander as it comes at a fraction of the price. My main question is whether the Nokton also has that same magic glow at f1.4 as the Summilux preasph. Anyone?

Hi everybody, i just got my summilux 35 fle this week. and i'm having difficulties comparing these two lenses. i'm sorry if my writing is not good and my sample picture are very crappy but this is only a test. i just want to share my experience with these lenses Please checkout this link first in flickr to see in high resolution. https://flic.kr/s/aHskP24eFN from my observation in couple days for brief moment, comparing side by side in lightroom, i really impressed with the voigtlander 35mm f1.7 ultron. Sharpness at the center the ultron beat the summilux on sharpness wide open. (f1.7 vs f1.4) but summilux beat the ultron at the same aperture f1.7 but not by much though Bokeh both have beautiful bokeh. sometimes i can't tell which is which. Contrast summilux has more contrast, but only a hair saturation summilux has more saturation but only like 3-5% i think size the Lux with the hood and the ultron without the hood is about the same size. i never use the hood on ultron since i bought it. it resist the flare very good. and it looks nicer. the ultron is slimmer than lux and lighter than the lux rendering both lens render is quite the same also. Now, the difference visible in my eye is curvature of the lens the summilux has center curvature that makes the subject on the center pop. ( i think this is the way leica did to make 3d pop) i can notice the size of a subject side by side with the voigtlander. the subject at the center is bigger on summilux than voigtlander. certainly the plane focus is not flat overall ultron is only 5-10% to catch up the FLE i would say. so in the end, i still finding the reason to keep this lens since the lens is 4x the cost of the ultron.

Just curious, has anyone had experience using Voigtlander lenses on the T/TL? (I see that Louis uses a Nikkor 50mm 1.4, which looks excellent. And, Rick P has used the Zeiss Sonnar 50 1.5 with terrific results. I recently started using a Zeiss Planar 50 2.0, which has been quite nice, but was wondering about some faster lenses, as well, thinking that if I were to later acquire the SL 601 they'd serve dual purposes). Specifically, I was considering the Voigtlanders 35mm 1.2 and the 50mm 1.5. Thank you for your thoughts. Rob

I took some photos at the Whitney the other day. This photo of Shapolsky et al displayed some peculiar focus on the right side of the photo. Looking at the text, it looks like there is motion blur on the text on the right, but not on the text on the left. Is this just a common type of focus blur on wide-open, wide-angle shots? Or could there be something going on with the lens or camera (M9)?

I just received the new Voigtlander 28/2 asph Ultron in chrome from PopFlash in Thousand Oaks, California: www.popflash.com. Tony Rose's company is a joy to deal with. I enjoy 28mm lenses. I shoot with a Leica Q, the pre-asph f2.8 Elmarit V4 and the "new" f5.6 Summaron with an M10. Each lens images a bit differently. Voigtlander has really produced an amazing optic with the new 28/2 Ultron. This lens represents a significant improvement in their design and manufacturing capabilities for VM mount rangefinder lenses. It has edge sharpness at f2 with an M10 when coded as a 28 Summicron. I had the previous 28/2 Ultron lens. It as no slouch in the center but you had to stop down to f4 or f5.6 to get real edge sharpness. This new Ultron delivers edge sharpness at f2. This small chrome lens has some heft that reminds you of lenses from a generation ago. The bayonet lens hood is also a nice touch. Here's a photo I took today of a few books as a tribute to Erwin Puts who passed away. I miss his commentary on almost everything Leica. Stay healthy & be well. Richard

Hi All: I recently rediscovered this lens while thinking about a trip. After I started using it again, I am finding my way into the wide-wide perspective of the 21mm. I haven’t been using it for “photography” yet, only for family outings. Noticing quite a few questions about this lens on the forum, it seems a photo thread would be appropriate. I’ll start! M10P

Hi there, I purchased the Voigtlander 35mm f2 Ultron about 6 months ago at my local Leica store. I have a problem regarding the focus ring; it's a bit loose in a way where I can move the focus ring horizontally and vertically (about a mm or so). Its not a big movement or anything but I can feel the loose when I'm trying to accurately focus an image. I've never seen anyone mentioning this problem from this lens., or any Voigtlander lens in this matter. I wonder if any user had such an issue or if I'm getting crazy about small stuff. Thanks in advance for the answers, Renaud

I'm not sure whether I've had bad luck with getting lenses to fit on cameras, or if this is a common problem with the M system. My first Leica combo was an M3 SS with Summicron 50 V2. Since the body and lens shipped together, there was no problem getting them to mount. Next, I purchased an Ultron 28 f2. The lens fit into the mount, but I couldn't get it to click into place. Took it to a repair shop, and the owner basically got the lens to fit through brute force - said Voigtlander QC wasn't great and that this was basically to be expected. I used the lens like this for a couple of months, but it would often "unclick" itself somehow, so I eventually traded it for a LTM Skopar 28mm. Same thing happened with the first adapter - couldn't get it it to click in place. Went back to the shop, and was given a replacement that 'magically' worked without problems. Recently, I traded the M3 for an M4-P and, lo and behold, neither the adapted Voigtlander nor Summicron will even fit into the mount, let alone click. Thus out of 6 total Lens/body combos (2 bodies and 4 lenses/adapters), 4 have been faulty. I'd simply put it down to a service error or wear and tear, but the fact that this has occurred between unrelated lenses and bodies makes me skeptical. Has anyone had a similar experience? Am I doing something wrong?!

Hi all, I've been shooting a Leica M10-R for about 8 months now and I love it! However, I recently ran into issues apply lens profiles in LR. I just received my first 3rd party lens, the Voigtlander 90mm APO Skopar 2.8. I just realized that there is no lens profile applied and I'm not sure what I should do. The lens detection automatically selected "R-Adapter-M." I see that the other option is to turn it off, which I'd rather not do, as I have a few Leica lenses. The lens profile options in LR does not list this lens. Any suggestions? I'm a little lost and I have a trip coming up where I was hoping to use this lens extensively. Any help is greatly appreciated!
