A few days ago i went to Torfhaus /Germany (800m above sealevel at the harz mountains about 20km away from home), not only for hiking but after that also to buy some hiking stuff. Bad weather -> means rainy, foggy about 3°Celsius. Actually it was a nice trip, and i got some nice weather sealded boots after all. I would not write these words if nothing else had happend... After all i went home by car but had to stop for a "natural break" - and i have lost my car key.... I have seearched for 30 minutes but did not find it, the weather went foggier and the "light" disappeared... my wife did not answer the phonecall, our daughters do not have a driving license (too young) and i still did not find the keys. So i called my father in law, i asked him to pick up the second key from home and bring it to me, giving him a detailed description where i was (somewhere in nowhwere)... Not to forget the keys.... i kept on searching but almost two and a half hour later a made my decision to have a last try finding the key, meanwhile using the flashlight of my iphone (don´t forget the scene in the rain and fog, and "Torf"haus is not a wrong word, in english Torf means peat, and the ground there is very wet.. the whole scene reminded me to the scene of James Bond and his birth place in Skyfall-> low colours, foggy, cold, rainy....) And just about two minutes (!) before my father in law arrived i really found the keys... with that i had a nice welcome to my father in law and we both drove home carefully (btw 2 car accidents on our way back home...) Of course the SL was with me and i had to take some pics ....

Video Mode question: (Leica SL) Does anyone know how to set the 'shutter speed' to slower than the 'fps rate' in video mode to create 'shutter/motion blur effects' in camera? It seems to only go as low as the fps rate no matter what I try, perhaps someone has a work-around or tip? Thanks in advance!

Hi there! I am a new Leica SL2 owner. So far the only lens I have is the 24-90, and would love to buy a portrait prime. For a bit of background, I came from Canon with the 85 and 50 1.2 lenses, and which I shot wide open or at 1.4 most of the time. I am currently torn: SL50 Summilux, M50 Summilux, or something else entirely? Grateful for advice!

I can't find a single review where they discuss the EyeAF feature on the Leica SL. Exactly how good is it compared to something like the more modern Fuji XT3 or Sony A9 cameras? Is it reliable, and what kind of limitations are there? Thanks

Hello dear group members, as I changed my system lately (got the lovely SL Typ 601), before I sell my Fujifilm equipment, I decided to give a side by side comparison. Please forgive the poor outcome - I have never done something similar so far - so the comparison is between —Leica SL with Sigma 16-28 f.2.8 (Full Frame) —Fujifilm XPro2 with Fujinon 10-24 f4 (APSC crop x1.5) Shot both RAW ISO400 at f8.0 The captures are taken from Lightroom as screenshots. To keep it unbiased I will not comment anything. I already know what I am seeing. Here are both at 28mm FF equivalent: here at 16mm FF equivalent: here is a 100% crop of the above: here at 28mm FF equivalent and with 400% crop:

With the publication of the Leica APO-Summicron-SL 1: 2/75 ASPH., I can show first experiences I was there in advance to try before and am heavily inspired what Leica has launched in again. My first impression can be read here. https://norbertwindecker.blogspot.de/2018/01/erfahrungsbericht-test-review-leica-apo.html
