Outstanding shot. I bet the other photographers along the baseline were thinking you'd never get anything useful with that ridiculous rangefinder camera.

50mm Summicron, V2

I just figured out that images posted here look WAY better when you click on them.

Brought up midway through the thread and discussed in subsequent pages..

Strange, though, that other camera picture threads here (including prior two Monochroms) don’t seem to need the boost.

I just went through a slew of photos in the "Monochrom type 1 shots" thread and found the opposite. They are indeed much improved by clicking and viewing in the lightbox. Two very good examples are on the last page--post# 2927 and post# 2930. Give it a try.

The second example doesn't impress me either way;  the first is somewhat improved on my screen. I guess my reaction has more to do with my being less than wowed by the pics so far in this thread, especially in the mid-tones, as others noted. Most require a click to somewhat enhance appeal. That could certainly change as users take more pics and learn to adapt to the camera and the posting variability.  However, when I look at the very first page of M246 pics, including one very fine one of yours, I can't say I've seen anything better here IQ-wise from the M10M, even without having to click on the M246 pics. That doesn't prove anything technically, nor does it negate anything M10M users are actually experiencing with their own eyes;  just my gut reaction.

And that brings me back to what I wrote earlier, which is to rely on my own pics and prints to judge.  Online pics don't do justice for any camera, even discounting the unknown differences between monitors and viewing experiences.  Eventually I'll give the camera a whirl to see results with my own eyes.

I would remind members that this is an image thread. Please use it to post images and possibly to-the-point critiques, but please do not drift into technical or other OT discussions. We don't want to turn it into a text thread.

Not going to be out & about today, so. decided to try my 60mm Macro-Elmarit-R + Macro Adapter.  Do not (yet) have the Visoflex so used the rear screen. Hand-held.

As ever, click to view in LightBox.

That's very true. Web viewing had severe limitations when it comes to determining a camera's capabilities. There are just too many variables--skill level of the poster, type of software used, camera settings.

I don't know in technical terms what happens to our images here when clicking them to open in light box, but I don't know why that can't be the standard for posts. Why should we have to click them to see them at their best? On some sites, clicking an image brings up a larger version. Here, it seems to make the image sharper with improved contrast and tonal range.

Really like the sense of depth from the way the image is lit. Great tones too.
