But it is a pity that the picture does not exist in color!

Just kidding, of course! I wrote this because in other forums people were disparaging that such an expensive camera can only take black and white photos!

Wow, dark stuff, with just about enough detail in some, lots of detail in others. What ISO's were you using?

Hi Rob,

in short,  those shots were all at iso 100, and pretty much stayed at that iso all day - bright shiny day despite cold

#1 - 1/15s at f/16 iso100

#2 -  1/1600s at f/8 iso 100

#3 - 1/2000s at f/6.3 iso 100

#4 - 1/2000s at f/6.3 iso 100

#5 - 1/250s at f/6.3 iso 100

#6 -  1/125s at f/2.8 iso 100 (macro mode)

#7 - 1/30s at f/4.0 iso 100 (75mm)

#8 - 1/5000 at f/1.8 iso 100

#9 - 1/2000s at f1.7 iso 100

I've already seen a lot of very nice Q2M images posted here and elsewhere but this one really appealed to me. I'm trying to decide if I really need one since I have the M10M and a nice 28mm. Yesterday I went out with that combo and tried to get something that closely matched this image. I think the Q2M output is more pleasing, has a smoother transition between tones and a bit more dynamic range. So now I'm really on the fence. The shot I got is below.

Cheers,

Brent

Hi There Brent

I felt rather the same way, but I think there is also a difference in the profile in Lightroom. Still, I'm very happy with the combination of the M10-R for colour and the Q2-M for black and white

I like the fact of having a really different camera for a really different methodology. . .

Pretty good representation of what the camera is capable of....due to some computer issues I seem to be having this pic hasn't been edited at all and I find it quite pleasing.

Looks like you could be expecting Sarah Connor along shortly in a beaten up truck (cf "Terminator" franchise). Hope the computer gets fixed soon.

The Q makes it possible to get so much closer than I ever do with an M.  Here's a short study of my steel bicycle.  I'm not sure if these had anything to do with it, but shortly after posting them in a thread in Barnack's bar about bicycles, that whole thread disappeared.  Here I brazenly post them again 😉

Love the last bike shot.  They all are  nice, but the bike is so clean.  Mine is a mess.

Your bear is up early; mine is still asleep at this hour.

Looks hypothermic... when they get that cold they stay in hibernation.
