It is that time of year again when one of the local universities holds its graduation ceremony. I captured this scene of a couple of students making their way to the ceremony in the obligatory mortarboard and gown. Leica M240 + 50mm Summicron-M f2. 1/2000 f3.4 @ 320iso Gerry

I have shot very little this past year for various health and Covid reasons. Here is one that I was pleased with from my favourite café. It is a grab shot as I just had the camera resting on the table and didn't look through the viewfinder. Leica M7 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5. Kodak T-Max 400 at 400. No exposure values recorded. Commercially processed and scanned at home. Gerry

I have struggled with his image for a long time (I actually took it in 1997) mainly because I shot it on Agfa Vista 800 colour films nd the train after scanning was horrendous. I have now had another go using Dfine 2 to try and calm the grain down, and have produced this which I am reasonably pleased with. Taken with a Leica M6 using available light only in the Louvre in Paris. Sorry, no other details are available. Gerry

Another from the last film I processed. Taken just standing and shooting on the street, so a 'grab' shot. This is a crop from the full frame. I must confess that I quite like the look of the film even though it is clearly not the 'original' Agfa product and is a bit grainy so has to be worked on Maybe a change in developer would calm it down. Leica M6 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5. Agfa APX400 processed in Adox FX39ii. Gerry

It was great to finally be able to get out to my favourite cafe yesterday and drink coffee with a friend I haven't seen since Christmas. I have been having problems with my knee and have found walking almost impossible but thankfully I am just using one stick now. This is one image I grabbed whilst sat outside the cafe in the beautiful sunshine Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit f2.5 Gerry

I am slowly managing to get out more now, ands back in my usual coffee shop yesterday. I couldn't resist taking a candid image of this young lady at the counter because of her height. She must have been about 1.8 metres. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit f2.5 @ 1250 iso. 1/250 @ f2.8 and post-processed in Lightroom Classic. Gerry

I took this charming image candidly at my favourite café. It is not my normal practice to talk to my subjects, but if there are children involved I normally introduce myself and explain what I have done and ask for permission to use the image. I don't recall ever having been refused, although it is slightly more awkward shooting film as opposed to digital because you cannot show the parent the image. This young mother was quite happy with what I had done. Leica M7 + 35mm Summarit-M f2.5 using Kodak T-Max 400 and only available light. 1/125 @ f2.8

I was just leaving the waterside park area when I spotted this guy. I was already driving so I drove back around the park and parked up so that I could catch him. It had just been pouring with rain so I think he stopped under the tree to take shelter, but he then sat on the wet grass. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit f2.5. Shot as .dng and converted to black and white in Lightroom Classic. Hope you like it Gerry

This was taken in the downtown area of Southampton where I had been photographing in the small street market. I was about to get back into the car when I turned and saw this scene. The image really is a quick 'grab' shot without reseting anything. It is from June 2019, don't be fooled by the 2015 on the caption which is the film number. Leica M7 and Tri-X film commercially processed.
