Puppy life. Trying to get some sleep on the floor with the new puppy. M10M, Noctilux at 1.2. ISO 25.000. And to all pixel peepers - it IS sharp in the center.

Thanks. The reason I asked is that it looks too sharp to have been shot at f/1.2.

Hi Brent, yes but still look at the lovely out of focus rendering around the focus point of the man even at 1.7. I found the magic is there up until F2 and at that F stop the lens begins its transition into a more modern look with increased sharpness and contrast.

What a poignant and beautiful use of the out of focus quality of this lens.

Thank you very much ! It is indeed a very special quality, which this lens is able to produce in the out of focus areas. Less blurry and creamy, but more defined and with a wonderful 3D-pop from time to time. The results are manifold and seem to depend very much on the given light situations. I still need to practice for a while ....

To be continued.

Maybe a side by side comparison of the Noctilux and the Summilux V2 from 1967 is of interest for some of you:

... it’s called a one trick pony.

But what a beautiful pony.

If I need a pony that does more tricks, I’ll take out my 0.95 Noctilux or a Summicron.
