Just bought the "Q" so I'm still learning it's capabilities and how to handle the single focal length. One quirk I've found is that the camera will in explicably change settings like going from DNG to JPG without my input, or turning off OIS, or changing the maximum ISO on it's own. Still trying to figre out if it happens when I change batteries. Anyway, this is an image thread so here's one with the lens in macro focal mode....

I don't know whether or note, technically, the tip of the cat's nose is still fully in focus, but with the best focus on the top of the head, it gives a nice impressionistic fade. Really nice mood here.

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback as I work to learn the Q and get better at managing its capabilities. This is my first Leica and only camera so I am all in.

Me, too, and that's why I was studying what made your picture especially effective: subtle changes in focus created a really nice story. Leica lenses (and Zeiss, too) are famous for their micro-contrast, and this is sort of the same thing, and it's a good lesson for me, that micro-focusing can be more effective than having the entire subject completely in full focus.I probably would have shot it at f4 or so and it would have been less interesting, but I'm thinking you shot at 1.7, leaving a lot of the subject fading out of focus and effectively treating part of the subject as bokeh.
