  1. If it's a OS version issue that prevents the app from installing take a look at Opencore https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher which allows you to install newer versions of MacOS on hardware that Apple won't allow you to. I use it on my old Macbook Pro and It seems to work very will.
  2. I'm not sure what you mean by "file condition", but yes you can open DNG files directly in Photoshop. If I remember correctly, in the PS 'File' menu go to 'Open' and navigate to the file location and select the file to edit, or on a Mac (I'm sure it will be similar on Windows) select the file and right click and then open with PS. If it's a DNG (or other raw file) it will open in Camera Raw and you can edit it the same as you would in the Lightroom Edit Module. You can then transfer it to PS or for further editing or save it there and then. If you don't want to use LR take a look at Adobe Bridge which can act as your file management system and allow you to open DNGs in Camara Raw and edit then and pass them to PS if you wish.
  3. I used Exposure X6 for about 12 months before switching back to Adobe via the Photographers subscription model. I found Exposure to be very Lightroom like and an easy transition from that product. It worked very well and I understand the current version includes more masking and Ai than the version I used. It also includes a way to import images from a Lightroom catalogue. It doesn't use a catalogue, but creates a folder inside the folder where the images are stored to hold XMP files for each image you edit. I switched back to Lightroom because it was having difficulties with my Fuji GFX files but I never had a problem with any Leica files. I also found the Keywording process a little 'clunky' but that may have been down to the fact that I was so used to using the Lightroom version. I've recommended it here a few times as an alternative to Lightroom if you wish to leave the subscription model but like the general way Lightroom works. I'm not sure about now, but they used to offer a full trial version which is happy to coexist with Lightroom so may be worth a try.
  4. I've got one of the first version and use a cheap rangefinder and a cold shoe extension with mine to get a reasonable idea of subject distance. I brought it from a local camera fair for £5 and I use my phone as a lightmeter. To avoid having to remember to change the shutter speed half way through winding on, I usual set it on one speed and change the aperture as that's much easier. Also when winding on I normally just push the lens into my coat, top, sleeve etc and that seems to work fine. Not sure where you are based but If you do get one take a look here for a nice half case to protect it from bangs. Looks good and you don't have the cover swinging around underneath https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204534778562?hash=item2f9f390ac2:g:A7kAAOSw9zVlTRe1.
  5. Take a look at Exposure X, https://exposure.software/ very Lightroom like and subscription free.
  6. Andy I've tried to send you a copy of this via a PM but it won't allow the upload as the file is too large. Do you have a personal email or dropbox I can send it to?
  7. If you can find a Tamron Adaptall adapter for Leica R, they are relatively rare but can be seen occasionally on eBay etc. then you can use the reasonably inexpensive Tamron Adaptall lenses. Might be ok until you can move on to Leica R lenses.
  8. Just for clarity, LR5 has a 64bit installer and will install on current Intel Macs (and possibly Silicon Macs under Rosette). It's a bit flaky but for occasional use it's fine, see below.
  9. Take a look here https://pixls.us/ for a collection of free/open source software.
  10. Don't know if it will help but you can get a copy of the instructions here, https://www.butkus.org/chinon/leica/leica_af-c1/leica_af-c1.htm, it has a section at the end for trouble shooting problems. The other thing to check, is if the film loaded properly as it won't fire if it isn't but all the other functions will work, at least it doesn't on mine anyway.
  11. It's a Canon FD Mount, and as far as I know there aren't any adapters that will allow you to use it on the R system and achieve infinity focus due to the way the registry distances work.
  12. When the internal battery on mine failed a few years ago I couldn't find anyone who said they could fix it so this is good news. In the meantime this has been my solution, works well and hasn't failed yet.
