The Q3 Dressed Up

The title of the thread is Leica Q3 Images so here is mine.  Went to the Shop to get the thumb rest and Soft Release Button.  I was going to get black for both but I did something I thought I'd never do.  Asked for the brass and put it on the cam and thought to myself, "Hey, it doesn't look that bad!"  So I left with brass with its previously-purchased black half case.  I apologize for the photo but it was a down and dirty iPhone photo with the lens markings outside the DOF of the image.  Cameras have their own esthetic but the add-ons for the Q3 add a little extra.  Comments are welcome!

I think your camera looks great as you have outfitted it.  I think if you add the brass hood, it might be too much.  As an analogy,   It would be like the guy going to a football game with team colors on jersey, pants, hat, socks, etc… just a little bit of teams colors on a person goes a long way and feels like the right balance.

enjoy your Q3.  I am still waiting on mine.

in another thread someone asked about the tilt screen. It’s so sturdy that you can prop the Q3 up on a table and shoot some „astro“ in a pinch.

I find the brass a bit gaudy, however, it will darken over time, and it might actually look interesting. I don’t think the lens hood or lens cap would be attractive in bronze; on the front of the camera, that would look strange. But for the thumb grip, maybe. I was planning on getting it in black, but I’m almost tempted to go for the brass, hoping that it will develop a patina over time.
