Good point. Failed to mention that. Thanks -
Q3 frequent restarts/ reboots and slow switch-on
BobsFirstLeica replied to andix's topic in Leica Q3 / Leica Q2 / Leica Q
Obviously should not be doing that. Check the FW on the camera itself on Menu 5. Should be 2.0.1. If not, then install. I'm not a fan of installing from the APP if this is needed. If the FW is 2.0.1, go to Menu 6 and do a complete reset. If all that doesn't work contact the seller. Good luck. Bob -
New challenger : X100 VI vs Q3 in 35mm crop mode
BobsFirstLeica replied to nicci78's topic in Leica Q3 / Leica Q2 / Leica Q
I do not support that. When the Q3 was in such short supply (as it may be now....I don't know) there was a thread comparing it to the Sony A7CR as an alternative. There were a number of posts comparing, contrasting not only the 2 but suggestions about purchasing an M if people had to wait an inordinately long time. It was a good and respectful thread if memory serves. There is little doubt the Q3 surpasses much of what Fuji offers, but for the price and performance, the X100V is an attractive small package. If they put the quality in the X100VI that they put in the GFX100 ii I use, then so much the better. Competition and choice is a good thing. BTW AussieQ, I own the Q3... owned the Q2 and would recommend them to anyone. Bob -

I did. Excellent images but what I appreciated most is your statement in the "About" section. Well said and completely agree. If the magic moment presents itself and I have an X100VI, Ricoh, Sony, etc. with me, that's all I really need. For AussieQ, I wouldn't talk too much trash about the current trove of other brands.... in the hands of capable individuals, they can deliver! BTW I own and like the Q3. Bob -

Ghiera di selezione
BobsFirstLeica replied to angelo rosana's topic in Leica Q3 / Leica Q2 / Leica Q
Bob -
Mystery of OIS & 1/50 Solved
BobsFirstLeica replied to Miltz's topic in Leica Q3 / Leica Q2 / Leica Q
I have yet to test what you have done but intend to do so. @hepcat is correct with his statements about sharpness, blur, etc. The weather forecast for my area predicts rain for an extended period, one which I probably will be able to test your "pattern" out. Bob -

Yes! OP. Please supply examples along with "all" shooting parameters. There may be other factors at play. Thanks. Bob -
Review Q3 Half Case from Lim's
BobsFirstLeica replied to MindsEye's topic in Leica Q3 / Leica Q2 / Leica Q
I hope that is not the "case" with Lims Half case. I bought one to replace Leica's own case on the Q3 and have been very pleased. It seems well built and quite protective. Only time will tell. -
Leica Q3 Firmware V 2.0.1 (merged)
BobsFirstLeica replied to jps1's topic in Leica Q3 / Leica Q2 / Leica Q
Yup. Same here. I took a stopwatch (iPhone) and timed it. I'm resigned to an "initial" slow startup. The Q3's other attributes and qualities are what make it a pleasure to use. -
Leica Q3 Firmware V 2.0.1 (merged)
BobsFirstLeica replied to jps1's topic in Leica Q3 / Leica Q2 / Leica Q
New Firmware Installed. Allowed camera to sit unused for 13 hours, battery not changed. Startup time: 4 seconds, no change from the past. Only situations when startup time is virtually instantaneous is when it has been off for a very short time then turned back on. Or when a freshly charged battery is reinserted. I doubt my Q3 is the only one that behaves in this manner. However, as I have stated since I got the Q3 last July, I can live with it. When I know I am going to use it, I just turn it on then off before I depart. Bob -

Leica Q3 Firmware V 2.0.1 (merged)
BobsFirstLeica replied to jps1's topic in Leica Q3 / Leica Q2 / Leica Q
I recall the last update was designed to improve startup time. The question is what the startup time will be AFTER the cam has been sitting unused for 24 hours. That's when many found out after the last update the startup time had really not changed. That's why in my use, I always turn the Q3 on then off a little before its intended use. So, please respond in this thread tomorrow after your cam has sat for a long while and report the startup time. I will wait to update via SD card. My first update months ago using the FOTOS app almost resulted in a bricked cam. Bob -

Nicely framed and captured. Yes, it is a real benefit not having to lug around any extra weight to get a shot one likes. The excellent Denoise AI tech really makes getting tougher shots a breeze. My back and neck appreciate the compactness and light weight of the Q3...... not to mention its IQ. Bob
