Even when I own the M9, I have strong feelings for my M8. We will be always together.

Although my feeble efforts are put to shame by most of the above photographs, here is one of my favourites. M8, Summarit 35mm, 2 in-camera JPGs stitched.

I know what some of you will think .....another cat picture!:) Philomène is a great model she is not camera shy specially when it is a M8U with a super lens .... the Asph Summilux 50mm F1.4. This shot was taken wide open, natural window lighting was a wintery overcast sky.

I captured this image last semester in my Body and Photography course. We had a nude model come in and we each had a 20 minute session to set up and shoot. I was doing all of my work with ambient light while others were using flash.

Some wonderful stuff on this thread. I've only had my M8 since June but it's already got my photography back to its roots and I'm loving it. Two of my favourite shots thus far. One landscape with a bit post processing and one portrait.

The landscape (Inchcolm Island off Edinburgh) is the kind of shot I wouldn't have taken before the M8 came along. The portrait (Mrs Spo) is not one of my best but I just love the light and the colours in the shot which is untouched.

Yes I'd love an M9 but there's nothing wrong with it's older brother for now.

Wonderful thread with awesome images. This will help me to overcome my desire to get a M9 which I do not really need in the near future. The M8 is still a great camera.

Thanks Steve

Steve,

I don't want to block the sale of M9's but I think this thread already goes along way toward proving that the M8 is not obsolete, it remains a true performer. I'm not big on consumerism so I'm always happy to hear about people enjoying what they have. Rekindling the love afair with the M8 is what this thread is all about. The photos here are awesome. It's also great to welcome here those who are only now discovering the value of the M8, and are embarking on a new journey of exploration with this camera.

Here's a recent favorite.
