Louis Posted July 24, 2018 Share #2142 Posted July 24, 2018 yes, 'tis me. Same time, same camera, self-portrait in mirror: Good to have you around here. Long time ago, I had that little Minox, but I could never get any decent single shot with it. I sold it to get a lens for my Nikon gear. It was during the “film time” and I was a teenager!

Ari Kfir Posted July 24, 2018 Share #2144 Posted July 24, 2018 Hi, had a chance to grab the CL for a few minutes , took a couple of shots indoors and had a walk around the block with a couple of vintage lenses: 40 Kinoptik: 40 Kinoptik by JM__, on Flickr 40 Kinoptik by JM__, on Flickr 5 cm Rigid Summicron: 5cm Rigid 1958 by JM__, on Flickr 35 Summilux v1: 35 Summilux v1 by JM__, on Flickr 35 Summilux v1 by JM__, on Flickr Best, Jean-Marc. Louis Posted July 26, 2018 Share #2150 Posted July 26, 2018 (edited) This shot was taken with focus tracking that may not be perfect for car or bike race; or flying birds; but I find it very helpful for street photography. As some discussions we recently had; if only the focus point could go back to center after each shot. It could certainly speed my shooting, more specially in some lights, I can not even see the focus point. CL + 18-56 Welcome, dear visitor! ramarren Posted July 27, 2018 Share #2154 Posted July 27, 2018 (edited) I was downtown in San Jose for a walk and afternoon coffee yesterday, carrying the Leica CL fitted with the Elmarit-R 19mm f/2.8 v1 lens, testing this lovely old Walter Mandler design lens out on the new body, essentially. I made nine photos in my short walk around the neighborhood, mostly playing with shapes and spaces, objects and people: The Elmarit-R 19mm f/2.8 v1 lens has a rather bulky front element, but proves to be reasonably easy to handle and work with on the CL body despite that. It focuses quite close and gives a field of view approximating that of a 28 to 30mm lens on a FF format camera on the CL's APS-C sensor. For this lens, I found myself using focus peaking and magnification quite often to obtain accurate focus. Perhaps the new TL18mm lens is a lot smaller, a lot lighter, and all that ... it would certainly be less to carry. But I like shooting with this old R lens quite a lot regardless. enjoy! ramarren Posted July 27, 2018 Share #2160 Posted July 27, 2018 A great set. Thanks Louis! I had an interesting moment happen yesterday just after I took my last shot of the day and was turning to walk to my car. A guy walking past with his friend stopped and said, "Is that a Leica CL? And what lens is that on there? Very cool camera!" He and she smiled and continued on as I said thank you, etc. It's pretty rare that someone notices and comments on me making photos with a Leica, never mind what kind of Leica it might be or that it isn't a standard lens I'm using. He must have been an arts or photography student at nearby San Jose State University.
