Yes, it was something that I thought too Albert and was the reason I chose this image over a few I took of the balloon man - that and that it looks like his little boy is actually pushing a huge bubble around.

Being a country girl, I can never be in a city long, an urgent need for green open space comes on quickly with me. Having read my guide book several times before my holiday I knew all that was necessary was to turn left out of St. Marks Square and follow the water as far as I could. Doesn't take long before you reach the Giardini della Biennale Internazionale d'Arte, where I took the photo's above. Some really great art installations in the gardens, that I failed to do justice to with my camera so I will leave them out. Then on to Isola di S' Elena, and a reminder that Autumn is here too, with trees changing colour and falling leaves. I loved this part of Venice and returned a few times, below one of my encounters on my walk back to the Hotel. All CL and 18 -56

HeinzX Abstract above put me in mind of my one and only holiday selfie, where else would you look for your reflection but in the backside of a Rhino! CL 18-56

Thank you Vikas. Venice was somewhere I have wanted to go for a very long time but I have a husband who absolutely hates crowded places, is not into visiting museums or art galleries, and will not queue for anything. Having dragged him to Florence a few years ago, I knew it was a no no. Thankfully he was good enough to let me go alone with my camera, definitely the best way to visit Venice to my mind, (unless young lovers of course)! Of course I came home with many "Tourist" shots, it's very hard not to, but what will remain in my memory most is the colours, sounds of the gondoliers, and delivery boat men stocking up shops and restaurants in the early morning.

I managed to visit Murano and the even more colourful Burano on the same day - CL 18-56 again.

Home from my Venice trip. Couple from trip out to the Island of Torcello. The beautiful Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta e Chiesa Di Santa Fosca. The slog to the top of the Campanile was well worth it, just not sure the photo actually gives a true picture of just how high it was but the views were fabulous. CL 18-56

Louis - you have great walls in your neighbourhood and with the second shot I would love to know exif (settings) and how much processing was involved for the end result - love it.

CL and trusty 18-56, other than maybe something faster for low light, close to all you need for travel.
