I prefer to have that look of - that guy with the old vintage camera from a pawn shop that probably cost $100……

That was almost the price of a new one. It was around 8190 euros brand new I think.

I was curious so I googled it, it was usd 9295, a mere 300 more than the vanilla M10r..7550 is a steal for m10r black paint by today's standard lol

I completely agree. Smooth, quiet, great menu, very reliable and 40MP is sufficient. IMHO, the perfect pairing is the M10-R and M10M.

"IMHO, the perfect pairing is the M10-R and M10M."

I was interested in a monochrom Leica but after a bunch of testing, I couldn't see any difference in photos made with  monochrome models vs those made with M10R/Q2 converted to B&W at any ISO that I would ever use.   Certainly agree that at very high ISO, there is an obvious difference but it occurs at ISOs way beyond the max I use/need.  TBH, I was disappointed because I really wanted to WANT a monochrom!  😪

New summer 2024 used prices for M10-R Black Paint on official Leica Classic store... One from Germany and two from UK....
14K euros seems the new norm.

Advertising is one thing, selling is another.  The £11,550 camera has been listed for some time; the £12,000 model is a new listing, has a later serial number and a lower shutter count (3814 compared to 8795) so Mayfair must have access to the service menu 😂.  The Dusseldorf camera has an even later serial number, but no shutter count mentioned.  Maybe German photographers are not so bothered with shutter actuations.

I do wonder how long it will take for these cameras to sell.  I guess they are priced in anticipation of where the market will be at some future point.  Leica Classic Store have no need to make a quick sale and will happily take interesting cameras into stock.  The most expensive one at Mayfair is a rather battered M2 black paint with a matching black paint 50mm lens.  It's priced at £45,000.

I think those M10R BP will sell over time. I know someone who recently bought one for £11,500 in perfect condition. I can attest to him being delighted with the purchase. The M10R BP will likely increase value even further due to its rarity and being the last bottom plate Digital M.  If you do a search for the basic M10R, there are not that many around. The M10R will be one of those classics that will hold their value I reckon.

Hi Olaf - can you send me a link to your dealer? I wonder if this includes Euro VAT? I am in the UK and if imported the purchase would incur a 20% VAT charge, so just under 11k euros?.  Leica provides a one year warranty on 'classic' sales so that's also a factor to consider.

Agreed, I had in my post 669, responded to a new BP buyer who had purchased Eli Kurland's personal M10-R BP from Leica SoHo,

Strangely that post was removed - without a trace.

Sorry about that - removed at my request as I felt I'd included too much info. in the post. But, yes, after off-handedly asking as I was leaving the store if they ever had any on hand, I jumped on the opportunity to acquire the one formerly on his desk. The first test photo showed as L1000523, and the price well below what I'd seen after looking for over a year (as well as the prices quoted in the last few pages here). Several of the recent photos I’ve posted here were taken with it; here's one more:

The M10R Black Paint that has been gathering dust on Mayfair's shelf has been reduced from £11,500 to £10,750.  The other one at £12,000 remains.  Maybe the cheaper one was on commission sale and the 'owner' was fed up waiting?  Still think these are over priced, but we shall see.

I have seen two M10-Rs BP sell for about 8900 euros recently here in EU. I think it is still too cheap.

Regarding the price, I bought my M10R BP at Leica UK for £11,500 with some kit in exchange. Namely, an MP240 (which had been exchanged for an M9 due to the sensor issues, which had previously been exchanged for an M8 due to the coffee stain back screen issue) and my M246 (which had been exchanged for an M9 due to sensor issues), plus a sum of cash. I have been attempting to calculate the overall cost to me, after conducting an audit of all these exchanges the M10R BP probably cost me about £10,500 net of all these other expenses.

I recently sold my M10-R Black Chrome and decided to go for a black paint version to match my MP. I found this beauty in unused condition, with only a few triggers.

Zero regrets about not going for the M11. For some reason, I’ve never been drawn to it since its release.
