  1. I know this question has been asked a million times, but I have very specific requirements: - I am looking for a 50mm lens - I want a classic image quality, with character - I need it to be as compact as possible - It should be in black paint, preferably I already own a modern 50mm Summilux 1.4 ASPH, but I do not enjoy using it as much for some reason. It is too modern for my taste (pairs nicely with digital cameras, but not so well with black paint film bodies), not as compact as some of the 28mm and 35mm lenses that I use regularly, and it does not match my black paint camera bodies. Is it too much to ask? 🤔
  2. But I enjoy taking pictures and hanging out with my film cameras. Also I develop all film myself and enjoy the process. Digital lost it’s magic for me, I don’t enjoy it anymore, but I make 10x better photos with digital, yet I refuse to give up film and get back to digital. What a complicated relationship… can anyone relate to this?
  3. I own almost every latest and greatest Leica digital camera, but I shoot 99% with analog MP and my iPhone 14 Pro....these days it's all about compactness for me....
  4. I typically check if the two dots on the rewind knob are turning in the opposite direction after inserting and winding the film , and I'm quite certain I did it for this roll... but I can't guarantee it. Perhaps it was the previous roll, and maybe I was too distracted on the street. Who knows... Is it possible that the two dots were indeed rotating and the film is still not loaded?
  5. I always tension the film with a rewind crank. In fact, I did what I always do. It's strange that it went wrong.
  6. One thing I don't like about this lens is that it is so lightweight that the camera is not well-balanced on the strap, and it leans upwards. I heard there are balancing rings out there, but for me, that defeats the whole purpose of this lens, which is to be compact. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to counterbalance the front a bit more?
  7. That's unfortunate! Fortunately for me, it was just a regular walk through the city. However, it was still disappointing because I went out with the intention to photograph and ended up returning home empty-handed. Tomorrow is another day.
  8. I pulled it out, it wasn't loaded! 🤬
  9. MP. At the moment, it's not progressing, and I'm not 100% sure if it was progressing because I didn't pay attention. I went through this roll pretty quickly today. The counter was definitely progressing.
  10. I shot thought the whole roll normally, as usual, and when I got to the 37th frame, I hoped it’s the lqst one and that I should rewind, however it counted to 38th frame and then the counter got stuck there, but ai can keep shooting indefinitely. What happened here and what should I do with this roll? Rewind as usual?
  11. A bit off-topic, but sticky notes make it really interesting. Perhaps the concept could be a diptych with sticky notes on one side and the final version on the right side, framed together. Additionally, you're showing the most significant elements: the face, hands, and a hint of the gun, effectively conveying the entire story.
  12. Yeah, and it takes a second to insert and remove it. And the size fits perfectly, so there's no chance it will fall off.
  13. Not the best lens in the world, but definitely great considering its compactness. I also adore the design, it's a work of art. Although I have many M lenses, I have kept this one mounted on my BP MP for the past two weeks since it arrived, and I now love my MP even more as it fits in my pocket and any pouch bag, which I previously had difficulty with using any other lens. The reason I keep this lens on the camera is its compactness, and the image quality on film is quite pleasing to me. Oh, by the way, I have found a solution for the tiny lens cap, and I'm very happy with it.
  14. Happy new year Dennis. Mine doesn't click, unlike every other Leica lens. With this one, I can fully screw it in and unscrew it without even touching the lens release button. It's pretty stiff, but I can manage to do it. I've never heard any click sound in either direction. On my M10-R body, it doesn't click either, but it does secure it. On the MP, I can unscrew it by hand, no matter how much force I put into tightening it. Update: It seems that I managed to fix it. I loosened the screw on the release button just a tiny bit, and now it secures it. I cannot unscrew it with my hands anymore. It doesn't click like my other Leica lenses, but at least it won't come off until I press the button. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to do that, but I saw the screw and thought, "screw it, let's do it!
  15. I just received my lens today, and I noticed that it doesn't click when being screwed on. Is this normal behavior? All of my Leica lenses click when properly mounted. I have never encountered a lens that doesn't do that, so before I potentially damage it by screwing it too hard, I wanted to check if yours behaves the same way. Also, I noticed that the MP is not listed as a supported camera for this lens on Brightin Star's official website. When I asked their support via live chat, they confirmed that the MP is not supported. However, I was suspicious that the person didn't know and just confirmed what I saw on the website. Despite my doubts, I still ordered the lens and mounted it on my MP without any issues. However, I have not yet had the chance to shoot with it. Can anyone confirm whether this lens works fine with the MP? Update: I noticed that Huss used his MP with this lens, so there is no doubt that it works.
