I've found it to be rather flare-resistant most of the time, unless a bright spotlight or the sun is just outside the frame and the image bounces around inside the camera body, which happens - to varying degrees - with most Leica M teles. The only signature flare I've seen from any 75 ASMA is in the studio, with bright, centered subjects against a black backdrop - and on digital. I think the 75's concave rear element acts like a mirror lens, and projects a defocused image of the shiny sensor (and image) back onto the sensor, creating a distinct glow and central hot spot in the conditions mentioned above. Stein K S Posted June 2, 2020 Share #24 Posted June 2, 2020 Hi Another one with a slight preference for silver… I must admit though, that a couple of these get rather little use; the 28 (stays in the Box for different reasons…) and the 90 (which is HEAVY!). But the others are really getting much use… the 35 V4 and the Elmar-M the most. Along with a couple of blacks like the 35 lux pre-FLE and the APO 75. Welcome, dear visitor! UN eins Super Protect They’re awesome I especially recommend the 19mm one if you have the elmar 3.5 or 5cm. I originally got it for that lens, ended up selling that lens and then got the filters for all my other lenses because of how small they are. The glass they use is also proper good glass, and they are not cheap either. Highly recommended though.

I'm waiting for a Voigtlander with a 39mm filter thread. I'm not especially fond of collapsible lenses and can't justify Leica prices for a very much occasional lens. Voigtlander used to make a screw mount version. An M mount version would be perfect.
colint544 Posted June 5, 2020 Share #37 Posted June 5, 2020 I like this thread. I'm viewing it as an excuse for us to show pictures of our gear. I have six Leica lenses - three modern aspherical lenses, and three older/vintage ones. I find it hard to have an absolute favourite. What I have noticed is that the more 'keepers' I get with a lens, the more I am endeared by it. But then, that applies to all of them, so I'm back to square one. Anyway - I suppose a favourite combination of mine is my Leica M5 50 Jahre edition from 1975, and 50 Jahre v5 50mm Summicron - from 2003. They balance well together and, at heart, I'm a 50mm sort of photographer. Any 50 Summicron is special. It's a compact lens - in the true Leica M tradition - bitingly sharp, but gives that wonderful 'rounded' quality to your images. And the v5 is sort of the last bastion of spherical design before they started to switch to modern aspherical lenses. Decades on, Leica still have it in their line-up. Welcome, dear visitor! For every picture taken with the gear, two pictures are permitted of the gear. It’s still photography 😇 I’ve accepted that i have two passions: (1.) photography (2.) equipment. With that out of the way, I’m enjoying both 😄 That’s a nice looking setup. Love the M5. 3
