Advertisement Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Hi elansprint72, Take a look here Name this car..... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
J_Thompson Posted June 16, 2010 Share #142 Posted June 16, 2010 Pete, why don't we just skip protocol and have you post another. I'm running low on Leica-shot automobile photographs, and I'm sure you have plenty more to share that are probably much more interesting than what I have. elansprint72 Posted June 16, 2010 Author Share #143 Posted June 16, 2010 OK; this is probably too easy, showing any more would give the game away. Welcome, dear visitor! jaapv Posted June 17, 2010 Share #144 Posted June 17, 2010 Despite fist impressions, I do not think it is a Lotus Europa....
likalar Posted June 18, 2010 Share #145 Posted June 18, 2010 I believe it is a Europa by Lotus, but I don't remember the door gaps being so sloppy. Larry
stonearabiapix Posted June 18, 2010 Share #146 Posted June 18, 2010 (edited) No Lotus, maybe a Marcos, but what model??? T. Edited June 18, 2010 by stonearabiapix
kkochheiser Posted June 18, 2010 Share #147 Posted June 18, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Nope, definitely not a Lotus of any type and I don't think it's a Marcos either. Some sort of Brit kit car like an Ogle or something? Darn, I've seen this car somewhere... Kent
stonearabiapix Posted June 18, 2010 Share #148 Posted June 18, 2010 I thought there was a no kit car rule? T>
J_Thompson Posted June 18, 2010 Share #149 Posted June 18, 2010 Not a Europa but definitely a road car because of the sunroof and just a door latch button with no handle, which looks to be low volume production. Also those wheels which I've seen before on English formula cars and sports racers. Due to the angular body lines, I'm dating this to the early to mid seventies as it's similar to the Italian OTAS of the same era, but aside from that am out of ammo on this one. elansprint72 Posted June 18, 2010 Author Share #150 Posted June 18, 2010 None of the above! It appeared about 1967. Although initially available partially assembled for home completion, to avoid purchase tax, the manufacturer fully built about 100 of these in their UK factory (so I am told) when the tax was abolished; it was made up to 1974. The factory raced at Le Mans, but not with this model.

J_Thompson Posted June 19, 2010 Share #153 Posted June 19, 2010 This company built eight of this particular model and pictured is ths last remaining example. Identifying trim has been removed to keep things interesting. Welcome, dear visitor! elansprint72 Posted June 20, 2010 Author Share #156 Posted June 20, 2010 Seen in Hamburg Germany, ist it a mercury ? Kr Matt The idea is that you have to identify the car, then, if confirmed as correct, you can put one up for the rest of us to name. So, JT; as usual I have no idea. J_Thompson Posted June 21, 2010 Share #157 Posted June 21, 2010 So, JT; as usual I have no idea. OK, Pete, and everyone else, here's a hint: It's Anglo-American, built in the thirties, never raced at Le Mans .

likalar Posted June 21, 2010 Share #160 Posted June 21, 2010 Matt, you posted out of turn, but so you don't feel badly, I'll guess out of turn: ;-) That blue bomb is a 1958 Chevrolet Biscayne USA station wagon. The Biscayne was the lesser, stripped down version. This one has been modified a bit. Larry
