They are screwing with your mind.

That’s true. I am happy with the GR IIIx so why not go the extra mile with K3 III Monochrome ?
After all it’s using a cut down version of the M11 Monochrom.
26MP without bayer filter is plenty sharp. No need to get full 60MP.
Leica prices is going out of control, even overpriced Pentax looks cheap.
I will tried their mono myself. If not good enough I will send it back.

I order the K3 III mono with HD DA* 16-50mm F2.8 PLM & HD DA 55-300mm F4.5-6.3 PLM

I tried both at Paris Ricoh imaging square. They are very fine lenses. And they balanced perfectly well with K3 III.

Leica should put that sensor in a CL Monochrom. It will be amazing with the TL lenses.

Sadly Leica killed their APS-C line up.
I am still piss off about the situation. Since then I haven’t bought anything from Leica. I am not sure to forgive them anytime soon.

My future K3 III Monochrom is preparing for shipment. I am very eager to receive it.
🙃😊🙃

My dealer is saying that the whole first allocation for Europe has been sold.
It is a tremendous success.

Like myself 80% of customers are first time Pentax users.

Many thanks to Ricoh imaging for democratising Monochrome concept.

In lots of respect Ricoh Pentax looks like the Leica of the late 2000’s early 2010’s era.
Small boutique/workshop operations catering for the nichiest niches lovers :
- supporting old school optical framing cameras : DSLR.
- Monochrome dedicated cameras.
- still selling vintage style optics : limited lenses.
- one cult compact camera refined over and over again for decades : GR series.
- developing a brand new film camera !

I rather support Ricoh Imaging than the now rich Leica of today catering for the most luxurious markets.

totally agree re the leica tax, but there are other entry points for lecia. i picked up a used m246 as my 1st leica. ive been trying to convince myself to 'upgrade' to a M10M, but to be honest, i can't say for a second that the m246 has held me back for the stuff i like to shoot. congrats on your K3M purchase!

I was having huge issues watching comparison images in 1080p resolution from a highly compressed video on my 5K screen with bolded Japanese subtitles burnt in... so I did not count this single video.

It sounds like an absolutely perfect fit, both from a philosophical standpoint and from a standpoint of the user base. Also the GR cameras are cheap enough that you can truly afford to have both. I hope they offer it in the GRIIIx, as that is my preferred, but I could see them just offering it in the GRIII standard to try the waters. Having an M11 and M11M with even one lens to share between them will set you back as much as a car…

My M10M and one lens cost more than my car 🤣

Forget my M10M. My M10 sans lens cost more than my car.

My two M10's cost more than I've ever spent on my cars in 23 years of licensed driving.

The pentax looks great, and the pentax digital's I've owned in the past were beautiful in their utilitarianism and functionality. If I shot aps-c I would definitely think hard about it.

I got my K3M yesterday.

What can I say ? It is phenomenal !

Same B&W quality as Leica Monochrom, but better.

Contrast and sharpness are top notch.

Ultra high ISO is now normal ISO. 200,000 ISO is clean and sharp. I think that I have to use 1 million ISO to simulate TriX look. It is crazy.

I am going to vacation next week. I will post some images at my return.
