Happened to check this forum for the same issue and it appears I'm not alone.....I have two Leica M11's, one silver (freezes) the other black, never freezes. I was hoping the firmware would fix, but hasn't. Using Leica 50mm apo f2 and Leica 35mm f1.4.....I'm ok with it now, as this appears to be happening to others and I'm sure Leica is aware and will firmware a fix.

I also have the M10-R in Black Paint and Black Chrome......I don't ever remember a freeze, but it's possible.

Anyway, not complaining, just confirming for myself others are experiencing the same and it's not just my camera.

Many years later I am still a little sore about how long it took Leica to effectively address the rampant live view /EVF lock-up issue with the M240.  And even when they finally did it was only a 98% fix for me.  It went from a common problem during shoots to an infrequent one.  But it still happens occasionally.

That was the reason i ditched my m-p, a few weeks later the fixing FW update was released. Leica should have communicated the issue. My 246 never locked up as i remember, but my M10M did hung up on me twice, live view worked perfectly still though, had to remove the battery.

yeah, leica and their firmware.....are similar issues known in the S and SL world?

it took Leica 2 years to fix an exposure bug with flash on SL2. I problem they had on M and q cameras before..

Hi, I hope that won't be the case for the M11. I have updated with the latest firmware and it still hangs up sometimes, I have to turn it on and off.... boring. Do some of yo guys still experience that? Thanks

Two lockups on my M10-R today; quick on/off solved it. It’s a Leica thing… (one gets used to).

One shouldn't.  I had a problem with the SL2 and M10 and found that an air-blower applied to the SD slot solved the problem.  It may be an issue with sensitivity to dust on these contacts?

My M11 was freezing quite often the past few days using live view. I was using an uncoded lens that I normally don't use so I switched back to a coded lens today and haven't had any freezes so far.

May be try to off or manual lens detection ?

Mine just froze twice in fifteen minutes. I just got this camera a week ago and today was the first time i took a photo walk. All updated , using a zeiss lens , live view 400 iso 250ss so nothing to outta wack . Wondering if i should try and return and just get a m10 r .

I would just wait for the new update.

I have been submitting freezing issues to support and they are already fixing it. I think the next update will be in the fall.

I think many of the issues are SD card and touchscreen. try shooting into IN, internal memory. then wen you get home transfer to SD card for download.

May be we should share SD card experience ?

On the latest firmware 1.4.0, I've been getting lockups but only on power-off –> The spinning red arrows come up on the screen, and I have to remove the battery. Happens about 1/20 times I power-off the camera. Seems to happen more often on sessions where I am trying to quickly review images after taking the shot by hitting the Play button immediately, which sometimes causes a delay ("Please wait..." message on the screen).

Yes in that in order to get the correct frame lines I chose the appropriate lens profile from the list provided in camera.

The frame lines are not selected by a list in the camera or any software. They are selected mechanically by a cam on the lens mount.
