Does anyone know if the shutter release on the Q2 is removable ?  I remember that I had a soft release button on my Q, but that is long gone.  I bought it used, and I think it was on there when i got it.   I'd like to put one on my Q2, but don't know if it is possible to unscrew the factory button or not.  I don't want to damage anything, so, I thought I'd go to the neighborhood to look for answers.  Any help would be appreciated.   Thanks!

I haven't seen a soft release on a Q2, so I am inclined to believe that it cannot be used. Personally, I don't see the point anyway (given that in some cases on other cameras, s/r buttons have created problems), but that is besides the point. If I were you, I wouldn't try it unless someone came forward and positively said that it can be done.

Why don't you get a silicone rubber self-adhesive bumper and stick it onto the shutter button? All sizes are available on eBay and Amazon. They cost next to nothing, the only drawback is that you probably will have to get a sheet of 100.

You can buy single items specifically for cameras. They are stick-on and have a hedge-hog silicone type top feel. Really good and had one on a previous camera brand. Unfortunately have lost the link in order to re-purchase. They do the job perfectly well - no need to break your camera apart
