SiggiGun Posted May 6, 2018 Share #81 Posted May 6, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) It seams to be a not APRIL 1 joke! If it is serious, what I clearly do NOT hope !!! , this lens will be replaced by a "newer" Krabe design. Of course, 135 is not the workhorse for every Leica photographer but this lens is not only history it is part of "das Wesentliche" !
Advertisement Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 Hi SiggiGun, Take a look here Farewell to the 135 APO-Telyt-M. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted May 6, 2018 Share #82 Posted May 6, 2018 I have just read the Erwin Puts article which declares the end of production of the Apo Telyt : Puts is usually a trustable person, but I wonder why he wrote this sentence : "...In current models the frame lines of the 135 are not included." Which is simply untrue.
jaapv Posted May 6, 2018 Share #83 Posted May 6, 2018 It would collapse by about 2 cm only, not a great deal on an 135, unless it were an extreme tele design.
mdemeyer Posted May 7, 2018 Share #84 Posted May 7, 2018 (edited) Mr. Puts just posted a correction, including an official email from Leica, saying the 135 3.4 has NOT been discontinued. Don’t you love the “facts” on the Internet? Much ado about nothing. Edited May 7, 2018 by mdemeyer
lct Posted May 7, 2018 Share #85 Posted May 7, 2018 Too bad i was preparing a post about the end of the Leica world . Thank you mdemeyer.

luigi bertolotti Posted May 7, 2018 Share #88 Posted May 7, 2018 (edited) Whilst everyone makes mistakes I do wonder what prompted this one. … legitimate question : Erwin Puts is not a "rumorist" for the pleasure to be…. maybe was victim of a joke from one of his insiders… … but the sentence about the frames is so plainly wrong that I wonder how can he has written it… Edited May 7, 2018 by luigi bertolotti
Jeff S Posted May 7, 2018 Share #89 Posted May 7, 2018 With no admission of error, maybe he’s sticking to his story and Leica wants to make its plans known on its own time frame. As for the frame line mistake, he’s been such a naysayer on digital photography these days, that I wonder if he’s ever bothered to actually pick up a recent digital M. Peter Kilmister Posted May 7, 2018 Share #90 Posted May 7, 2018 If you have one of these beautiful lenses then hold it, use it, and enjoy it. If you were thinking of buying one then go ahead when the price is right. You probably won't use it very often even though it is a fantastic piece of glass. That's life! I tried an old Tele Elmar 135 and I really struggled. The Telyt-135 is much more compact and easier to focus.
pico Posted May 7, 2018 Share #91 Posted May 7, 2018 So, is Leica going to capitalize to introduce a Chicken Little edition?

And as you say Peter, the APO-Telyt has beautiful handling (apart from aperture ring being too easy to turn ) Welcome, dear visitor! tsleica Posted May 8, 2018 Share #93 Posted May 8, 2018 (edited) I'd like to get the APO 135..maybe Leica will have a fire sale! Edited May 8, 2018 by tsleica
james.liam Posted May 8, 2018 Share #94 Posted May 8, 2018 It is all odd, if ever there were an ideal time for this focal length optic given LV and EVF on the M240/10, not to mention the SL.
luigi bertolotti Posted May 8, 2018 Share #95 Posted May 8, 2018 I'd like to get the APO 135..maybe Leica will have a fire sale! Can be… but with a wooden box, a "last of the 100 APO Telyt" certificate and 1,5 KEuro on top for all of this…

UliWer Posted May 8, 2018 Share #99 Posted May 8, 2018 Yes - he owns/owned digital Ms. That's no reason to have a quick look through the viewfinder. He is only blogging.
UliWer Posted May 8, 2018 Share #100 Posted May 8, 2018 It seems to have been removed - the plot thickens! I don't see a plot - just the usual disorder of his pages. The link from "Leica Rumors" still goes to the entry from 30/04/18 9:53. When you look at the blog without an external link, there are no entries from April 2018.
