I love my MP

I have an aversion to half-cases. Ralph Gibson in a talk said that he didn't like half-cases — in particular, he disliked the way the half-case muffled the sound of the shutter: he preferred to hear the shutter fully so that he could hear if the he had it set to a speed off from the speed that he wanted.

Don't see why that should be disappointing. Gibson not only started shooting with an M-Monochrom but, from a recent interview, it seems that he has also has been shooting color with the M240. If you're interested in his work you may want to read this interview:

...in which he says that, with film, he couldn't have done his latest book, Political Abstraction in a year. Here is an excerpt:

...The point being that I immediately achieved my visual signature through the digital space. It obeyed my visual intention. Now, that all of the sudden rang a lot of bells in my head because it meant that I could work a lot faster...I did this book in a year. I could have never processed the imagery fast enough to achieve that book in that time I did.

My MP is all naked, it's convenient when you have a backpack full of medicines and syringes

(that's what happened during my last medical humanitarian mission in SE-Asia)

If we also have the strap on the camera, we will mix the backpack straps with camera strap

and we risk missing "the right time" as Jean Cartier Bresson manner :) and I risk falling with

the cam. There in my billingham bag I take the camera out right away and it's protected.

When there is no road, we walk on mountain tracks

Agree with Ralph Gibson.

Nice cameras SMKoush,Coogee and Juppm (camera well patinated)

Best

Henry

I have tried cases in the past. Always feel distant from the body. Lose the tactical feel.

Yeah I never understood the fuss about the MP6.  Save for the number 6 by the serial number, the rest of the camera can be acquired with identical setup through the á la carte program... probably with money saved, too.

And why the number 6?  Why was that chosen for the Japanese market?

There are a handful of other Leica collectables that's I'd like to get my hands on (and use the cameras).
