Zampelis, how are you producing such beautiful flower images against the solid black background?  Way cool!!!

Thank you very much for your kind words :)

I am using a custom made LED ring light, connected on an arduino and I control them through my mobile phone via bluetooth using an app I have developed. I find it very effective and I have plans to turn it into a commercial product on some point!

Well, you certainly do a great job with it...spectacular images!!

Thanks again for your kind words! I have used it in the past extensively to take photos of dahlia buds. Here is the thread if you like to see more examples:

A lovely image, and I appreciate the fact that it's unedited. Call me a purist.

Dang. I need a lesson from Dimitrios on macro photography. This is hard to make it really nice. My first attempt to photograph a flower in a drop of water. Fun. I can and will do better. Kind of like Hummingbird photography. It deserves investment and practice. Leica Q2 (my first images after my camera was repaired). 1/800, f/2.8 (what was I thinking???), ISO 400. two Canon 600 EX-RT flashes. On tripod with corn syrup in the water to make it thicken a bit.

At it some more. Petunia in the background. Leica Q2, macro mode, Hoya Close-Up plus Marumi 5X filter, 1/125, f/16, ISO 400, two Canon 600 EX-RT flashes, on tripod, corn syrup in water to thicken, pine needles in the foreground. It would dramatically better if the Q2 allowed moving the focus post for manual focus. Very difficult to fix a composition and also achieve sharp focus on something not in the center of the image.
