So we have two 28mm Summilux lenses to choose from nowadays, the Summilux M and the Summilux Q. I am curious: For those who own and use both (and knowing this crowd, there has to be several who have both) which image rendering do you prefer, and why? Obviously there is way more that factors in to choosing between these two lenses, but my interest lies in the different rendering that the two lenses produce. Thoughts?

Sold my Leica Q last week in mint condition and I am having severe separation anxiety. I need to buy Leica Q in mint condition. But need help to decide: Should i buy Q or Q2? I have watched some reviews on YouTube that the colors / rendering and 24MP is a sweeter spot than Q2? Should I wait for Q3, launching most probably early next year? Due to my anxiety I will most probably buy either Leica Q or Q2 asap and buy Q3 next year as second camera if the upgrades are worthy. Any help would be appreciated and make me calm until I get Leica back in my Palm.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LEICA Q2 BW Nat. vs BW HC?

Hello everyone ! I just noticed that I have traces of wear on the hot shoe connectors of my leica Q2. I have used it only very rarely and with leica flashes. Has anyone noticed the same thing? Do I have to worry about it? Everything works very well but I still find it weird .. Thanks for your help !

Hi I have just came back from a trip where i used my Q2 for the first time massively and when i am importing the color are just becoming totally off. I tried the trial of Lightroom CC Classic and it definitely can show the right color. See below screenshots. There were no adjustment made at all in all case. Anyone having similar color issue with the perpetual version of Lightroom ? Many thanks

I have been considering a Q2 for everyday carry/street/travel to supplement my SL2 (which is large and heavy for those purposes). But I’ve found a used Monochrom M (Type 246) in great condition with extra battery, et al, in stock for $3,995ish. Couple that with a Voigtlander Nokton 50mm or 35mm f/1.2 Aspherical and you’ve got a compact fast M combo for the same price as the Q2 - I am aware of the spec differences. I owned an M7 years ago which I dearly loved (I still have an R8 for film), I prefer black & white, I don’t mind manual focus (again the R8 and the fact that this won’t be an action camera), and I have the SL2 (which I love) and lenses for more purposeful photography - color, ultimate resolution (large files), portraits, landscapes, wildlife, action, all weather. I’m thinking the M could give me that different Rangefinder experience and not be just a mini SL2 (although there is a lot to do said for that). I have never used a Q2 but as noted I did have an M7. Given my preferences, intended use, likes and dislikes which would you get? No pressure. 😉

And I’ll be danged if they are hard to find in stock. I’m not thrilled about a 28mm focal length but I am thrilled the wife will not have to be told to focus when she takes a photo (my M10S cause wife thumbs down points). Looking forward to having AF when out with the family.

I am wondering if everyone is using the Leica Q2 with lens hood or without? What are the yes and no?

Hi, Has anyone using the Leica Q2 experienced problems with moire when photographing architecture and urban landscapes? Thanks in advance. Jan

I am having a strange issue using Fotos 1.3 on my iphone X as a remote. When I use a 10 stop ND filter the app goes into auto mode for aperture for shutter (and is stuck on f1.7 which kinda defeats the purpose of a strong ND filter). The camera functions well on its own (I can manually control everything and I use a 12 sec timer to try and mitigate any shake from the shutter release, but would love to use the app). When I use the Fotos app without the ND filter I have no issue setting the camera manually as I prefer. Has anyone else had this issue? I hope there is an easy fix that I am missing!

Mit Interesse habe ich die technischen Daten sowie erste Testbeurteilungen über die neue Leica Q2 gelesen. Insbesondere auch den neuen Sensor mit 47 MP. Doch?Hat jemand schon Erfahrung wie sich diese ca. 85 - 90 MB großen Files auf die Permormance am Rechner und Lightroom auswirken?Bricht da die bisherige IT Infrastruktur zusammen, oder besser welche Hardwarevoraussetzungen sind erforderlich um ebenso flüssig zu arbeiten wie bei den bekannten 24 MP?Wer kann erste Erfahrungen berichten?Gruß ans Forum.

Hallo, mich interessiert, welche Geschwindigkeit ihr für eine Speicherkarte für die Q2 empfehlen würdet. Videoaufnahmen werde ich nicht machen. Leica empfiehlt: Speicherkarten. Empfehlung: UHS II Speicherkarten Allerdings vermute ich, ist das wegen 4K Video. Freu mich auf eure Antworten und vielen Dank.

Ich habe noch nie ein Leica Q in meinen Händen gehalten, aber was ich über diese Kamera gelesen habe hat mir schon gefallen. Nun die Q2 hört sich noch besser an. Auch oder wegen der Auflösung von 47 MP, denn man kann - wenn man denn möchte - auch gute Ausschnittvergrößerungen machen. Ich hab zuerst gedacht: Ganz schön teuer das Teil. Aber ein 1.7/28 mm Asph. ist vorne dran. Was doch schon mal was ist. Für die M kostet das 2.0 28 Asph. gleich 4.000 €. Ganz schön viel Geld und dann ohne Kamera. So gesehen bekommt man das Gehäuse der Q2 fast gratis. Und gegenüber der M hat es doch den einen oder anderen Vorteil, wie Sensorstabilisator und Autofocus. Mal sehen, ob ich mal eine in Händen halten werden.
