sblutter Posted January 10, 2016 Share #101 Posted January 10, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) 50 summi ver IV. Happy to give up 1 stop I'd rarely use for lighter weight & compact classic profile. A beauty!
Advertisement Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Hi sblutter, Take a look here Only one lens.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ECohen Posted February 9, 2016 Share #102 Posted February 9, 2016 35mm Summicron this assumes I have to choose a lens already in my bag but I could be happy with any lens...it's kind of a game, give me a lens I'll make pictures. I am also fortunate ....I don't have a fortune to lose;-)
gberger Posted February 9, 2016 Share #103 Posted February 9, 2016 My eyes have forced me to put my cameras on the shelf; however, IMO, the 50mm Summilux Asph is the best all-round lens that has been made (so far) by Leica.

ramarren Posted February 9, 2016 Share #105 Posted February 9, 2016 You lost your entire fortune and were only allowed to keep one M-body and one lens. You know you will never be able to buy another lens. What lens would you choose to use for the rest of your life. I'd have my 1972 Summilux 35 f/1.4 v2. Denys Posted February 9, 2016 Share #110 Posted February 9, 2016 Interesting question! Since getting an M4-P a long while ago, I only had a 35mm Summicron (v4) - I never thought about any other focal length. I had film Nikons and various lenses..now a Nikon digital and a 18mm-200mm zoom. Now with my M9-P I still think 35mm is just right. I also have a 50mm Summitar from 1939 with an M mount but don't use it very much. If allowed to keep one lens, however, it would be the Summitar: my father used it on his iiib. bobbywise Posted February 9, 2016 Share #114 Posted February 9, 2016 Reposting in the thread. I said before the 35 FLE, and stand by it. Over the last several months I've used this lens 85% of the time.
jmahto Posted February 10, 2016 Share #115 Posted February 10, 2016 I will keep the costliest lens in my collection. If I find it inadequate then I can always sell it and buy the cheaper alternative.
