Michelangelo is quoted as saying that he could see a sculpture in a block of marble, that revealed itself as he chiselled away.

These Bots (the button end of a 24 foot Wherry quant, that you push your shoulder against) were secreted inside trees waiting for the woodturner to reveal them. Having served their purpose over the years they were destined to be thrown out, but I saw a picture in them.

Leica 111g, 85mm Summarex, 30th f16 on tripod, Ilford HP5 in Perceptol. Copy of a darkroom print.

SheOak (Casuarina)

The SheOak tree in fact has both male and female flowers, thus facilitating easy cross pollination. The female flower, after fertilization, develops into a cone that looks rather like a hand grenade. 'Exploding' it releases a number of winged seeds that fly off to a new destination, hopefully for germination. The 'leaves' of the tree are in fact branchlets and the real leaves are wound round the branchlets in whorls. The reduced surface area helps with moisture loss due to evaporation.

Camera: Leica 111f

Lens: Canon Serenar 85/1.9

Film: Ilford FP4+ @ 250 iso, dev in Xtol.
