Recently I was comparing some shots I took with the 50 APO vs the 50 Lux to really see the differences on the SL3. I was only taking photos of my cat but noticed that they eyes were consistently sharper with the Lux at 1.4 than the APO at f2. Looking back at some of my other photos taken with the 50 APO I’m seeing the same thing. Whenever my 50 APO updates its firmware it is much louder than my other lenses - the motor makes a whirring/grinding noise. After speaking with Leica SOHO they were concerned that the APO was showing less sharpness than the Lux.
