Yes, I know, but some people believe they render differently or that they are two different entities 😊 will do side-by-side ASAP.

That would be interesting.

Aside from the hood, I like the BC better aesthetically but the standard version is much more practical.

I have seen several suggestions there is some kind of optical difference but an equal number of suggestions that there is not. It would be interesting to see actual evidence!

I've had both, but I can't say I've noticed any practical difference between them. Sometimes I think the images from the standard version is a little more gentle, and the BC a little more contrasty and harsh. Perhaps due to even tighter tolerance limits, but it could just as well be the lighting conditions. I have never tested both side by side under equal conditions.

When I got my lux 50 asph I wondered what all the fuss was about....

Turned out mine was de-centred

(ignore the exif of f4, ND filter - the clue is the 1/24th SS)

but a trip to Wetzlar (and some money) later and finally I saw just what a great lens it truly was... (the cat picture is actually better as a photo though 😅)

I see a common thread in the three pictures. In Norwegian we say "a red thread", which suits even better in this case. 😉
