One of life's ironies, a gotcha??? So, my main wide format printer, an Epson 7900 died over the weekend and has to be replaced - $$$$ naturally. I went for an SC-P7570. Who has one in stock & ready to go? B&H, of course. What else is shipping at the same time? I leave it to the Forum members to guess.

Why is life like this?

Let me guess. An SL rear lens cap?

Ah, but what a lens cap!

I had a college prof who drove an ancient Mercedes diesel. Somehow his oil filer cap got lost and he had to order a new one from Mercedes. He ranted to us for days about the price of that oil filler cap he had to order.

The day after it arrived he came in and said, "I have to tell you: that's the most beautiful oil filler cap I've ever seen! You just can't believe how smoothly it screws on, so precise, so perfectly machined, it's certainly the king of all oil filler caps!"

Product satisfaction can come from the most unexpected quadrants, I guess.

The Pacific Rim knock-off caps will work just as well in keeping the dirt out the hind end of your SL lens too. I try to keep a couple of extras in the bag - it seems I'm always one short...

Harsh news, my friends. There are parts in this camera made in China and Leica is running out of those parts. You can't blame them for outsourcing stuff like the wifi and bluetooth. If you don't get yours soon, there may be quite the wait. I'm glad I got mine.

I am partly dependent on Chinese products.  To be precise, Cad-Cam machined dental crown substructures.  The delivery time jumped from two to four weeks and is back to two now. My supplier told me that production in China was back to normal. I’m sure the same is happening in other industries.

Any news regarding newly produced SL2-bodies - or is the production (still) reduced/halted as a result of limited supply of components?
