RobertGeorge, was it you who called the Summicron-S a cross between the Summilux-R 80/M 75 and Summicron-M 75? I can see it in these photos.

It wasn't me, Alan. I've never had the chance to use M / R glass, unfortunately.

Bloody marvellous lens, though. It's made the S2-p a walk-about camera; and even the most mundane things are worth photographing with the lens's rendering style.

The water must be warmer than the air (otherwise it would be solid ice!), thus the mist too. Still, I would not want to slip and fall in...

Attractive and dramatic photo!

Leica S (Typ 006) in Greenland August 2015...

looks very dark to me on my iPhone

Question. How did the S battery hold up to the cold weather. I ask as I am taking mine to Svalblad in September

Neil-

The S batteries (all 4) were perfect. I keep the extras under my parka but there were no problems at all even with the ones in the two cameras. I have a Luigi Crescenzi leather half case for both and I am sure that this helps as well.

Morning!

Dramatic light on the river yesterday, illuminating the ice in patches so I went for a relatively fast shutter speed to get some depth in the water and a strong black and white conversion. Printed this big yesterday and it looks great! May not be everyones cup of tea!
