I just got a brand new MP (manufactured July 2025) and the vertical alignment is slightly off. The dealer offered to exchange it but they don't have a replacement on hand and will have to wait for Wetzlar (unfortunately with no timeframe). I know the vertical alignment is just behind the small screw on the front. Does anyone know if the recent MPs require a special tool for the vertical alignment like some of the other film Ms such as the M6 do? Or is it just a 2mm hex like the horizontal adjustment?

I am repairing Elmarit 28/2.8 4th Gen by myself. However, I was stupid enough to forget to mark the locations of the startig points of inner/outer helicoid screws. Does anyone have any good idea to reassemble those parts? I think I'm so cooked....

I am the happy owner of a Q2 reporter I have been using along with my M10M and SL(601) and my film Ms. My M10M is my main camera as of today. Sometimes I lack color (but not that often). I enjoy the fast response, weather sealing, wide aperture of the Q2, though it is a bit too wide for most of my photography (which is not so much of a problem as it is easy to crop given the MPix). I am wondering if I should not seize an opportunity to sell it and replace with a M11-P to finally get a color digital M again… My girls are no longer toddlers, and I can more easily live without AF (and probably be faster without sometimes), and choosing among my lenses to adapt to the situation would be nice… comments and advice welcome

I have been using an only M lens I have left: a Summilux-M 1:1.4/35 ASPH (11663) with my CL body, I now have no more Leica M bodies, which I use to shoot slide films only. What do you think: should I replace the M lens with a: “Summilux-TL 35 f/1.4 ASPH.”? Would this 35f1.4-TL lens much more suited for the CL camera body than the 35f1.4-M lens + “Leica M-Adapter L“ Now the only TL lens I have is the 55-135 zoom.

I'm currently wrestling with which lenses to keep / sell / add - and wonder if others are dealing with similar issues. At the moment I'm using two systems. L mount and M mount. The L mount system is one SL2 body and the following lenses: VE 24-90 VE 90-280 Sigma 45 f2.8 DG DN The M system is two M10 bodies and: 15 Voigtlander Super-wide Heliar III f4.5 28 Summicron Asph 35 Summicron Asph 50 Summilux Asph 50 Summarit f2.4 75 Summarit f2.4 90 Macro-Elmar + macro adapter 135 M Apo-Telyt f3.4 In the current circumstances, my daily carry everywhere is the SL2 + 24-90. I never thought it would be so easy to manage - but it is. Because of how life is at the moment, I'm hardly using the VE 90-280. This means there is a large lump of money sitting in a lens that is little used. However, I got it for a good price used and I'll hold on to it for a year or two and then review. I don't use the Sigma 45 so much since I got the VE 24-90 (which is SUCH a good, well behaved lense), but I still like the images I make and I am happy to retain it for now. I'm also not using the M's much at present. This isn't a reason for getting rid of them - but the retained lenses are another issue. If I look back through thousands of images in my Lightroom archive, the three M lenses that dominate are 28 / 35 / 50. The others account for only about 5% of images. I loved the 90 Macro when I first got it - but I was mainly using it as a compact medium telephoto on the M10, and not really using it for macro! AND The Sigma 45 (with its near macro capability) on the SL2 was so much easier to work with! Likewise, I've had the 135 A-T for a long time, and it's a flawless lens (which works great on the SL2), but how much do I use it? Very little at the moment. I use the Voigtlander 15 Super-wide Heliar very little too - but I know that it's essential for certain kinds of interior and landscape Now that I have the SL2, the lenses that are really redundant are the 50 & 75 Summarits + the 90 Macro-Elmar. Off to Ffordes they will go. But then what. What am I lacking. My current feeling is that it's a really good portrait lens and (possibly) a dedicated medium telephoto / macro lens. Which leads me to Sigma. It seems that the new 85 1.4 DG DN is a candidate as is the 105 Macro DG DN. I'm also tempted by the 35 f2 DG DN - though this overlaps with the 35 Summicron (which works beautifully on either M or SL). SO - does anyone have experience with the two Sigma lenses mentioned above (85 / 105). Does anyone have other thoughts? I'm toying with the Sigma 14-35, but I'm not sure if I'd use it that much. Heigh ho - I suppose this is all to do with too much time on my hands during the pandemic - though I did get out this morning in beautiful sunshine and snow (with the SL2 and 24-90!). Examples here: Thanks for any thoughts...

Hello! I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like there is no generic open thread for landscape photography. There are a couple of Australian and New Zealand landscape threads, sunsets. And many specific threads containing the word "landscape." But I didn't find one more generic like the "I like film" thread (to say one). So, I thought it was interesting to have all an inspiring open thread for general landscape photography. Admins, please correct me if I'm wrong, edit the title. I'm IN anyway to be inspired by landscape photos taken with M cameras (digital and film). 🙂 I start with this picture I took yesterday during the super full moon night. It was very bright. I never thought I'd be asking this question, but when I look back at the use I've been getting out of my kit over the last 6 months, it feels like one I need to address. I now have SL2 + 24-90 / 90-280 + Sigma 45 + Voigtlander 15 v3. This feels like a remarkably competent system for the kind of work that I can do during the pandemic. No theatre, no concerts, no international documentart commissions ☹️ I also have to M10 bodies + Summicron 28 asph / 35 asph / Summilux 50 / Summarit 70 / Macro-Elmar 90 and Apo-Telyt 135. If you'd asked me a year ago, I'd have said that if I only had one system, it would be the M. A bit of me still feels that way. I love the images, the size and weight, the discreetness. But when I consider what I'm using, I find that the SL2 + 24-90 is the one that comes out in the wind and rain. I love the range of focal lengths it offers, I love the IQ. OK - I'm not happy with battery life, and I'd be happier with a couple of interface changes (especially Exposure Lock assignable to a button rather than only to the joystick), but these aren't deal breakers. Is a life without an M camera in it imaginable? For the better part of 30 years, it wouldn't have been. Now, I'm not so sure... Anyone else with these thoughts? Has anyone converted completely? How does it feel?

I have a trip planned for January 2020 to the Azores and Lisbon. I plan on bringing my M240 with 35 Cron, and 28 Ultron VM. I want to do some landscape and seascape images and would like to get a wide or ultra wide angle lens. I'm looking for suggestions or user experience on what is available. Right now my top choices are the Voigtlander 12mm f5.6 (which i can use on my Xpro2 as well) or Voigtlander 15mm f4.5 which will be cheaper but won't be useful on my crop sensor (I already have that focal length covered). My other option would be the Leica 21mm f3.4 SEM... which I hear is an excellent lens but would require me to sell some gear fast to afford it. Anyone have any other suggestions or can give me insight on their experience with the choices i have listed?

Danke, David

Hi everyone, I use Leica M6 with 50mm Summicron. I need a 28mm lens and I’m hesitating among Elmarit M 28mm and Zeiss ZM 28mm Biogon.I have seen many reviews and my inclinations are to Elmarit.I really like the newest small version, but is too expensive. I have read that there is some problem with 3rd version, is this true? Is the difference between 3rd and 4th version so big? what are tour recommendations? Please, my question is only about these two brands, no Voigtlander, 7Artissian etc

Hi everyone, I’m about to buy as second lens Elmarit M 90mm. I’d like to know about your user experience with this lens and of course to see some pictures if it is possible. What do you like to shoot using this lens?

3. Würdet ihr bei diesem Angebot zuschlagen? 4. Was denkt ihr über das ganze? Ich freu mich schon den Kommentar „Finger Weg!“ zu lesen damit ich in einem ruhigen Gewissen einschlafen kann. Hoffe ihr könnt mir weiterhelfen! LG Chris
