Yes, it is with a box, I realise. So it is rather light by itself …

Try looking at the screen in bright sunlight...

I don't have Visoflex 2 for my M11 but use LCD screen from time to time.
Because it is not good in bright sun light I purchased for him a LCD screen cover.
The Expert Shield Anti-Glare for Leica M11... It is made specifically for this camera model
and you get 2 LCD covers in the package. What is special about this LCD shield is that
he reduce almost all reflections and glare from the M11 LCD screen when you use her
in the bright light. I can see very good what is showed on the screen and the sun light
must fall on the LCD screen in very weird angles to start producing glare. There are absolutely
no reflection to see at any light conditions. The clarity and crispness of the LCD screen is little
bit reduced but only for a few percent. That have no impact of usage and you can easily focus,
compose and review the photos on him. It is also resistant to water, dust and fingerprints.
To me this is very good product for my M11 and I used him on all my other cameras...
Leica M240, SL, SL2, SL2-S, Ricoh GR II and now M11.

If this sound as review or promotion of Expert Shield company so be it...
I am not payed in any way from them but I like to help good companies that make excellent
products for my Leica cameras because they deserve it. Very good product, fair price and super
costumer service...

If this is against forum rules then delete it, no problems with me...

I've now got my Viso-2, and I like it.  It feels as good as the SL2's display but probably is not quite.  I'm probably going to leave the focus aids strictly manual.  I find them distracting, and the center of magnification keeps sliding off to a corner as I tend to drag it with my thumb on the arrow buttons.  But it shows the level lines.  The slide-in display on my M10s can't do that and I leave that on.

Leicacamerausa (the online store) has Visoflex 2's to order:  https://leicacamerausa.com/leica-visoflex-2.html.  Hurry.  The regular stores don't seem to get as many..  B&H and Popflash don't seem to have any yet, but Alex at Popflash was kiind enough to point out the link.

Close to SL2 quality is praise indeed. Tempting…..

no way. it is like the q2.

this is 3.7mp and SL2 is 5.7.

night and day difference .

When you are in low light it is just  terrible.

when you preview the image you just taken it looks totally blurry. on the computer is actually fine..

so not the same, not even close..

I have only positive comments on using the Visoflex 2 on my M11. My only thought is I might be tempted to use it more often than the rangefinder. I think the M11 rangefinder is excellent and I only have challenges in very low light. The Visoflex 2 makes proper exposure much easier and almost assures a correctly framed and focused image. As far as looks goes, I like it. Of course the pouch (material) it comes with is a disappointment, but it works. Bottom-line, I'm glad I have the Visoflex 2.

For me it‘s the most overrated thing I have ever bought from Leica. A Rangefinder is a rangefinder is a rangefinder.

Not really though. Leica have been making lenses that are wider than the RF window for decades and attachments to use those lenses on an M for just as long. The M hasn't been an RF only camera since the '60's. The digital Visoflexes are by a long way, the smallest, lightest and easiest to use accessories of this type that Leica has ever made. Some of the older visoflexes, bellows and viewfinders (I'm looking at you Frankenfinder....) needed their own sherpa as part of the purchase. At least you don't have to dissasemble the lens to use the modern Visoflex.

Personally I think the overrated award must go to the flashes.

Visoflex is destroying the rangefinder experience. It is the opposite of rangefinder fun. I hate it - and I hate it having become a victim of advertising.

seriously how?...if you dont like it, then dont use it.

When its needed, its priceless. It expands the rangefinder experience...it simply cant destroy it, since its optional.

Had real problems yesterday. Using Visoflex 2 on M11 with 35mm APO and spot metering selected.

Issues:

The camera locked up virtually every other shot. Only way to unlock it was to turn it off, replace the battery and start again.

And when I could take two shots in succession the red highlights in Focus Assist and the artificial horizon disappeared/wouldn’t display through the view finder.

I think the problem disappeared when I went back to multi-metering, but can’t be certain as I was busy with other stuff at the same time. When I get a moment I’ll do some more rigorous testing.

I didn’t have a chance to test with another lens.

Overall, very buggy experience and frustrating.

So far, I only use it with my 135mm lens. Then it does an excellent job. I no longer use focus peaking as I found it distracting and unnecessary. Black out is an issue but some of these forum suggestions are something I will try.

Thanks. I’ve updated the software and reset the camera. I’ll test over the coming days and let you know how I get on.

After updating the firmware, set Auto review to 1s, 2s or 3s and all should work fine in e-shutter and mechanical shutter modes as well. The previous bug has somehow moved and appears when setting Auto review to Off or  Shutter Button Pressed for some reason so better avoid those settings for now.

You KNOW that the next iteration of the M will have an EVF.  The series 11 is a warm-up for that.

That seems to me to have a lot of truth. Since I have the new Visoflex I can not be without it anymore. Its an item that I have permanently on the camera. There is one thing that I have problems with: Focusing is nearly impossible. So I look through the optical viewfinder to focus. For the rest its the Visoflex. Another thing: The metering get very simple as you see the histogram before you release (if you like you can switch it of and show other infos instead). You see blown highlights immediatly before taking the picture. I love that Visoflex and I do not think that it looks ugly on my M11.

How do you restore your individual settings for your profiles?

I like it so far. I use magnification, and I only use the EVF for UWA or for 75mm. I prefer it over the previous Visoflex Version. The only disadvantage I see is: My nose is now even closer to the display and gets "disformed". ;)

I prefer rangefinder for 28-50mm, thats why I use the M.
