Guest Posted February 1, 2022 Share #63 Posted February 1, 2022 Living in the UK i would go for the waitrose or marks and spencer freezer bag which although costs £1 gives better protection than the asda [wal-mart] bag as well as having a higher quality status. ymc226 Posted February 1, 2022 Share #65 Posted February 1, 2022 5 hours ago, Studienkamera said: That's a nice gift! I have this bag (even in this colour, which looks stunning in my opinion). It holds my CL and three M lenses up to 90mm F2.8 or MATE. I would consider it too big for a TL2 with standard zoom only. The two extra compartments remain unused in this case. But it is extremely well made, even better than my various Hadley bags. The zipper gives extra protection and nicely gets out of the way when not required. I would not recommend this bag for someone who uses a shoulder strap with the camera. There is not much space between camera back and the lid of the S2. A shoulder strap needs to be rolled up tightly to fit the space which takes some time. For a camera with shoulder strap, I would prefer something like the Billingham 72, which I also own. Hope this helps. 5 hours ago, Studienkamera said: Maybe one more comment about the S2: while I said I would not recommend the bag for a camera with shoulder strap, when used without shoulder strap, there might be a danger that the zipper scratches the camera display. The shoulder strap prevents this because it sits between display and zipper. Thus, there are problems with and without shoulder strap. As a result, I am not using the S2 very often - I prefer the 72. Thank you Studienkamera, I think you are right. The zipper on the S2 would be a concern as she may not be particularly OCD about coddling her equipment as I am. I showed her the 72 and she prefers the all black model. I may also get the Leica Combination Bag for M system by Billingham for her also. Only having the 18-56 zoom is limiting so I may also let her have the 11-23 and 55-135 zooms. I'll keep the prime TL lenses for myself as I am used to shooting prime M lenses only. I use it either to carry one of my Ms with three lenses of the day, or my TL with the medium and long zoom and Summilux 24. The black one that I have holds my Panasonic S5 and Voigtlander 12, Sigma 45 and Super Elmar 18. but that is of no relevance in this thread. Another bag I use is a vintage Leica Kombi Small. FlashGordonPhotography Posted February 1, 2022 Share #68 Posted February 1, 2022 Bought one of these for my 907X but I like it so much I'm also using it for my M. Too big for a single body but nice for an M11 and M10M combo. When i bring SL (with M lens) and M, i always picks up Hadley small pro. Also when i have to carry 2 M Bodies with 2 additional M lenses. I really love the handle from this bag and the back pocket to carry my face towel and hand sanitizers. other than that (...most of the time) i just carry MP and 1 additional lens and 1 roll of film, so i use Combi Bag. I love the shape of the Combi bag when i carry it, because the bag is very flexible and looks very thin (not boxy) Edited February 6, 2022 by stefanusj 1
mikeyknob Posted February 6, 2022 Share #74 Posted February 6, 2022 FWIW — I just picked up a (recently released) Billingham Mini Eventer and LOVE it with the M11, a couple extra lenses, charger, EVF, etc. I like that it has a weatherproof zipper across the top (under the flap), so the contents of the bag are exposed when the flap is open… and if you want it that way, you can open the zipper and fold it out of the way on either side. Plus, the bag is nicely appointed — and it holds its shape way better than the Hadleys, which sort of mold to the curve of your body. Just my 2 cents. The 'black on black' version is less conspicuous than other colour schemes. It is a bit smaller and has a wider strap than the Hadley Pro so is more comfortable to carry for long walks. Mine holds two M-bodies plus 21/3.4, 28/1.4, 35/2, 50/2 and 90/2. The 21+28 and 50+90 lenses are carried back to back (to start with at least). One body has the 35 mounted and second body without lens. Pockets in front stuffed full of small bits and pieces. I gifted myself a brown Satchmo which is the perfect size for a small M combo and it is surprisingly light and as all the Fogg bags high quality and great design !
