Thanks Albert, my pleasure. I think we had two wonderful days and let's not forget to also thank my co-organiser behind the scenes Roger (rjans) as well as thank Stef63 and japo for some good initial brainstorming ideas to put the two tours together.

And yes, what was I thinking wearing a polo shirt of the Sony forum to a Leica meeting ☺️, I corrected that on sunday 😁

Here's gentleman rjans coming down the stairs after passing the cycle/footbridge across the Leien.

And here with the plan at hand

I am making an album; the above picture is in it.

Direct links like the picture pasted above, sort of disappear

Anyway, over time, more images will appear there.

A bigt thank you to everyone who participated and I had the pleasure of meeting yesterday. Special thanks to Pieter who did all the hard work. I really enjoyed everyone's company during this pleasant photo walk. I regret I could not be present today but look forward to another meeting in the near future. Now my rolls of film have to be developed and scanned. On Tuesday a visit to "Grobet" (again 😊) is planned so I hope this way to be able to post photos more quickly in this thread.

Cheers

Roger

And let's not forget to thank Nadia and Herman for their hospitality when they invited us up to their appartment for drinks and enjoying the magnificent view from their 8th floor balcony on saturday afternoon. It was a coincidence that the walk passed by so close to their place but the opportunity was wonderful and much appreciated by everybody.

This was the view:

When I got off the tram to walk to the MAS for our meeting it started to rain but fortunately that was the only time I needed an umbrella the whole weekend.

Arriving at the MAS the first sun broke through, allthough the sky still looked threatening which gave beautiful light on and a nice backdrop to the Brabo Pilot building.

Nice to see you had a pleasant weekend in the most beautiful city in western Europe. Really sorry I wasn't there. I was supporting my son Paul who was running the Swiss peaks 360. This means 360km through the Swiss alps with 30,000 altimeters of climbing and descending. Just crazy 🙂 Nothing more for us.
Looking forward to meet you guys at a next opportunity, and more comfortable setting

grts

I think I found a way to give a clear link to my album: click on this picture and it should bring you there.

One picture I'ld like to share: made with an almost century old lens: Michiel's own 50mm Summar, uncoated, unpolished, almost wide open.

Thanks a lot for the organization, Pieter and Roger and to everyone for joining and making this a very pleasant weekend.

Some of the hidden advantages of these meetings is that I see places I wouldn't have necessarily in focus. Antwerpen is certainly worth a visit, though.

That Summar portrait indeed looks nice Albert, very subdued but still sharp! Must also work wonders on film where the gradations are even more subtle vs. digital I would think.

I have a portrait with a 65 year old lens from the weekend, even though it's coated it has some of the same charm, I'll see if I can post it later.

During our walk we caught three burglars red handed trying to break into an appartment, obviously we took their picture and gave it to the police :)

Here's that Elmar 90/4 portrait wide open at f4. It's an old LTM lens from 1956 and as far as I can see still going strong.

It does. The Summar is my favourite 50mm. I hope this doesn't intrude on our Antwerp photos, here are a couple of example with the Summar on film. First is Acros @ iso 400, second is on HP5

I'll allow it as long as these photo's are from Belgium somewhere ;)

Aaaaah, just kidding, thanks for showing. I really like the first one, and not only because of the lens used

One more for today

Roger and Michiel in the restored "handelsbeurs", a trade fair building from 1872. If you look closely Martijn can also be spotted far in the background.

Hello dear Leica friends,
Karin and me would like to thank Pieter and Roger for the great weekend in Antwerp.
It was our first time in this city, and I am sure we are going to come back.
The organization was perfect, and the atmosphere in the group was very pleasant.
Here are a few impressions from the Saturday.
All images taken with the pre-ASPH Summilux 50mm

Thanks John. And now that you showed the 7th photo in the series above I feel obliged to show the result from that effort:
