How to check DoF on the Sl2s

How can I set one of the front buttons to act as DoF button. 
 

I checked the simulation, it makes the image darker and brighter , but the sharp and unscharp areas do not move. If I take the picture I see the difference, but I can’t previsualice  it.

This was possible with the SL(601) but is not with the SL2 or SL2-S.

Yes that's unfortunately the case, I had the hope it would be fixed by the firmware update. Very annoying, could be a great advantage of a mirrorless system.

How can we address this issue? 
All this nice lenses and we can’t see the unsharpness? 🙂

Hello,

as a workaround for DOF preview, you could switch temporarily to video mode.
Check the aperture and DOF there and switch back to photo mode if setting is ok.
This is cumbersome but it is the only possibilty right now.

i use the dof botton all the time ….. 

on other cameras ….

Not for visualization, but one can use the top LCD to display DOF range (in ft or m.), including quick determination of hyperfocal distance.
