How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2480 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Fil

That’s an amazingly composed picture, Dimitris. Such a simple picture at first glance with so much complexity upon review. This really belongs in a gallery.

I agree. I think it would be even better if the pigeon was an old woman smoking a cigarette and looking at the photographer.

What I really like on this one is the relation between the two bright coloured tiles below the pigeon and the two bright round extractors on the window at the left. It is as if each of these pairs sets a personal space, one for the pigeon sitting on a broken window and the other for the occupier of the house.

 

An occupier whose presence is only apparent to us through the rusty sink waste pipes. And who is not able to see the world outside through the frosted window. Someone who had three windows to see the world and when the two were broken he replaced them with solid slates of wood so that the sun could not reach into the house.

 

And it was there where the pigeon sat..  I also like how the window on the left is looking straight on the pigeon side but judging from the window next to it, it is unable to open wide, allowing the occupier to only see the street.. It is as if both the occupier and the pigeon are sharing a common sky. And how oblivious is the occupier of it. And how the pigeon is a part of it.. but it is a cloudy sky.. but it cuts through the building through the greenish blue colour of the sink waste pipe which can act as an extension of it.. and you can go on and on..

Thanks! I have takens so many images there it will take me a bit of time to sort through and select what to post. But I will create a separate thread as soon as I find some time (just got back from vacation last night).
